need help with Cuba multi

i'm making a multiplayer level called Cuba and it isn't the Jungle. the setup file is called UsetuplenZ.bin and it's the place at the end credits of GoldenEye where Bond and Natalia smooch. however i cant get my setup to load successfully i save my setup as Usetupoat.bin to replace the caves but when i go to load the level in the pj64 it just lags EXTREMELY SLOWLY and then finally freezes and it doesn't even load the level. do i need gameshark codes or something to get it to load successfully?

Ahh, have you edited something in the lower part of the ROM? You need to edit the ROM settings and make sure it is the same as regular Goldeneye. The regular ROM has some settings turned on that greatly improve performance. That might be your problem, I've had that before.

I don't mean to sound like a smart *ss but uh......why make a Cuba multi in an arena the size of my bathroom? Laughing Shocked

Isn't Jungle sufficient?

Sorry what are you trying to do? Use Cuba's setup in another level? (with the swirl cam and all?).

yeah, but not with the swirl cam. i just want to load cuba in library's setup file but it doesn't work. any ideas?

I'm still confused. Do you mean bg file/clipping or setup file? Setup only modifies the objects in the level. You want to load Cuba with a different setup? Or another level with Cuba's end-scene.

You can adjust the scale of the level to make it as large as you want - I played around with making a cuba multiplayer level several months ago. I managed to get it to load properly by cancelling out the credits and getting rid of the swirl cam, but ran into one huge problem - a "ghosting" effect - the characters were all partially transparent. I think there might be a thread somewhere in this forum about this.

all i want to do is make a multiplayer level of Cuba. that means load the entire level of Cuba but make it replace the library. yes that means the background file and clipping too. i just want to make a multiplayer level of this "cutscene" arena. that's it.

well i think i almost got cuba to load i used one line of gs code for the multiplayer archives to load stage ID 36 (Cuba): 8002A8F7 0036. however, it did not work. well it kinda worked but it didn't load the level. intsead it just loaded the level music (the awsome music for the end credits) and that was it. the emulator screen was black, although i could still hear some cool GoldenEye music. so basically the level does not load.

i already found that topic, subdrag. what i'm wondering is why i should have to use gs codes to play a solo arena in multiplayer? why wont converting the ROM alone work?

You could do that too, but BMW was trying to get a gameshark solution. You'd need to swap IDs, which you'd need to do manually. Editor doesn't support, because it uses id to organize.
