maybe coldshadowX you could get your hands on C++ and create one yourself. Subdrag how did you figure out how to make the visual editor? Maybe you could right a walkthrough on some of the coding you did for future reference. I don't mean like a complete step by step thing, but just a guide for other people planning to make a nintendo editor. I would definatly read every page of something like that.

Anyways I am happy where the editor is now, the only thing would be a clipping fix however I have heard that the clipping is such a pain right now and probably won't be fixed for a long time to come or if it will ever be fixed.

You did a great job Subdrag.

It was a long process, and my only recommendation for repeating the same is to get books on C++, learn C++, program some earlier stuff, then get your hands on DirectX or OpenGl books...but the process is far, far beyond that, so it's just really not going to have a tutorial, but everyone will really need to go over the same processes. Not to mention the actual hacking work. The best thing is to assemble a strong team, as we've done with the Setup Editor.

The editor should be very usable, and fun now with sound, so good luck.

I didn't have Citadel or Jungle or Cuba's midi tracks, so you'll have to just simply change them yourself if you have them (and send them to me so I can include it). You can change the midis to whatever you want in the preferences.

I made an MP3 of Citadel's music, if anyone knows of a free MP3 to MIDI converter I can make one, everything I've found so far is pretty expensive given the fact that I'll probably only use it once.

Nevermind. I downloaded one of the programs with a free trial, and the MIDI doesn't even sound anything like the MP3, you can barely tell it's Citadel. I kind of expected that, but now I've confirmed it, it's not worth buying one of these programs.

Sound support is a great idea, unfortunately still not working on vista. Sorry to repost this, but it is important (not only for me).

Anyway, great work

Well I didn't mean anything in depth; just a guidline more or less. But I think a great team is the best thing you can really do.

At some point I will try and recompile the editor using Visual Studio 2005, if I can get access to it. We'll again try it for Vista, maybe they made some fixes. Until that, or I compile on a Vista machine, I can't get it running on there Sad

Subdrag, I have a freind who works with microsoft; the problem is that VISTA does not yet offer suport for direct X, so many programs including 3d max do not work yet. I am sure when they upgrade the system to include the support, your program will work.

Ah, good to see that you filled in the remaining sound effects. I'll have to download it again and see what's all in use. I'm curious to hear what you ended up using for the Visual Window. For fun, I took a .wav file off of a website that had Q saying, "Now, pay attention, 007". It actually suited it quite well. But that's the beauty of allowing for customization. We can change it to whatever we like afterwards. Very nice. Smile

I originally thought it was this, but people can't even start up the editor, which uses no DirectX at that point.

That is correct. When I try to open it, I get this:

If I can find a copy of VS2005 I'll try recompiling for it, that's all I've got till I get or have access to Vista (which may not be for years). I'll update you personally and work with you if any of those happen.
