We are about to know why a GS dosen't start. This topic will clarify anything why a GS dosen't start and you don't need to find another topic speaking a little bit about this subject.

-According to me, it happens there are **** inside the GS, then I use Q-tips and rhubbing alcohol to clean inside when I take the GS down. When I clean my GS, I don't breath in front of my GS because breath is composed of saliva. And when saliva is on contact with circutry, it increase chances to break the GS. Also, I don't touch chips with a rubbed Q-tips.

-If there are corrupted codes, I erase

-If a code is disabled but still enabled during game play, press Z and set to Default Off then Exit and save (if you don't highlight that code)

If you have cause(s) and/or solution(s), let's tell us

I had to vote 'other', simply because there was no 'all of the above' option.
A GameShark or an Action Replay can crap out due to many reasons. Dust or small hairs inside of the device, a corrupted cheat list, or bad codes. Any of these three things could prevent your cheating device from starting up and/or beginning a game. Clean them often. A Q-Tip does this nicely. Just rub the edge connector lightly on both sides, then swipe out the dust or hairs from the inside, which usually rests on the plastic casing. If your cheat list is totally empty and you can not add in a new a game selection, you may want to reflash the correct ROM to it. This should restore it to it's original factory defaults. You can then upload the cheats you like via PC connection. When the game doesn't want to begin playing after you've chosen to start it from the menu, try doing it again without any codes. Some games require enable codes, so be sure you have the proper one activated. Too many lines of code on at one time can also cause the game to hault during the loading process. Choose one at a time to see if it is a certain code that is causing this problem.

I have 2 questions.

-If I clean my GS and I touch accidently a chip, will the GS die?

-If I reflash my GS, will codes I've added still be there before problems?

You can use 2 GS to restore your wrong GS, I tested but you must have a compatible gs (2 gs version 3.3 as example). Put the right GS on the bottom and the wrong at the top and put a game whitch dosen't require a keycode such as Goldeneye.

Once you boot up, if you think the problem is the keycode, go to keycode setting to factory default (press Z) then you can play.

I have another hypothesis, this is the space memory. I noticed some gamesharks works with less games work better. If your gs memory exeed below 10%, it could increase the risk to be busted (your gs dosen't start). I have a GS with 50 % of memory available and it works perfectly.

According to me, the best way to prevent problems is to delete some games to get more memory.

You're right about the gamesahrk but for the game, I don't think so. Even if you blow under the game you might break the game because the saliva is salty, and the salt damages copper (kinda thin brown bar). The best way is to use rhubbing alcohol to clean it to get black crap from your game as Wreck told.
