Is there a PAL Gameshark code for PD that allows you to press the Left Shoulder button to activate Combat Boost? This would save the necessity of having to first select Combat Boost from your inventory, activating it, then re-selecting your original weapon.

A nice variation would be if it worked regardless of whether you had any Combat Boosts in your inventory - I'd love to play through PD with Combat Boosts on hand whenever I wanted them.

So, if anyone has the time and skill, can you please consider trying to hack these codes? Say these two variations:

1) Pressing the Left Shoulder Button would activate Combat Boost, regardless of whether or not you had a Combat Boost in your inventory, and the Combat Boost would time out after the normal time (so you only used one Combat Boost), but of course you could then re-activate it by pressing Left Shoulder Button again, whenever you like.

2) Just like 1), only pressing Left Shoulder Button only activates Combat Boost if you are carrying one or more Combat Boosts, otherwise it does nothing. If you are carrying a Combat Boost then it activates as normal. This wouldn't really be a cheat, just a user friendly way of quickly activating the Combat Boosts.

Explanation: The codes starting with a D are the activators for the L button. The code starting with 80... enables the Combat Boost and the last one controls the time the combat boost lasts before switching back to normal condition.

Wow! Thanks very much, mate. I've just tried them and they work great, a really nice piece of hacking.

I'm glad your happy with the codes. Here are the ones for NTSC, should definitely work with Perfect Dark NTSC 1.0.

These Codes are for unlimited Combat Boost (activated by L and deactivated by C down). I used C down because I'm using the D-Pad for controlling and the C buttons are unused. If you want to disable it using the D-Pad, replace the second activator code (D109C7E40004) with this one D109C7E40400. Now the combat boost is enabled by pressing L and is disabled by pressing D-down. Have Fun.

It surely can be done. I post a bit of SquareGuru's weapon doc, so you have the whole activator stuff.

To start combat boost using D-up replace the first D1 code with this one: D109C7E4 0800. To deactivate using D-down replace the second D1 code with this one D109C7E4 0400. I didn't try it this time, but it should work. If it doesn't just tell me and I'll fix it.
