I have a GS Pro 3.2 with a working LED & a printer parallel cable that I can hook up to my PC; I downloaded the GSCCC software, but it still doesn't recognize any devices. I selected 'Nintendo 64' as the system & tried all of the options - I know the parallel port works; I've used it with my scanner.

Any ideas?

Okay, just to get some obvious stuff out of the way first.

The GS is in the N64 with a game on top of it, you've turned on the power, and you're staring at the GS menu when you try to connect to it, right?

What address is your computer's LPT port set to? Most ports are set to 0x378, but yours may be different. If it is, you'll need to either set the actual address in the program or set the port to 0x378. You can find this data in the system hardware settings.

Finally, what operating system are you using? GSCCC should run (at least crappy) on XP and below. There's a hack of the official utilities that runs on everything up to Vista. If you're running on a *nix system with Wine there may be some trick to setting the port up for the program, and nobody ever bothered to get it working with macs.


If all of that checks out there may be something funny going on. Hard to say really.
