Upon trying to test out my Caversn map. I could not create a save file.
Please help.
All it comes up with is New agent, but it shows me no place where I can save. _________________ Also known as Spyster or Nyxem

What emulator are you using? My personal preference is Mupen64++. Any emulator will require that you have a Mem Pak enabled for one of the "plugged in" controllers. There should be an option for that in the "Input Settings" (or similar, it's under the controller setup data) menu. Just browse through it and see where you can activate the Mem Pak. You may have to select it yourself, like in Mupen. _________________

Spyster, excuse me if I'm assuming too much, but you sound as if you are mixing up gamepak and controller pak.
GAMEPAK is the official product name of nintendo carts. gamepak saves is an informal way of calling saves stored inside the game cartridge.
There are four types found in different games, but only one in each.
PD uses 16kbit EEPROM type.
The controller pak or "mempak" (in case you don't have one) is a memory card that you can insert in the N64 controller. It's just a memory card.
PD supports both saving to internal 16kbit eeprom and controller pak.
In the current architecture PC based N64 emus use, cart saves are managed by the emulator itself, while controller paks are managed by the input plugin, as they are connected to a controller in a real n64. |
