This can modify tons of strings already (weapon set & character names included), but I'll need some help regarding mission briefings etc which seem to be loaded only when a level gets selected... |

thanks
just a small usage example:
situation: we want to give "Bond" a really long custom name
STEP 1: Character Editor
We give Bond a name that is unused usually, I chose "infinite ammo off" from the Cheat Options
STEP 2: String Editor
We select the same string, and edit it.
STEP 3: Enjoy!
the new character editor version is available in its thread
I'm going to open up a small website in the future. |

The problem with the Mission Briefing text is that only one is ever loaded at any given time. That information is in one of twenty files, which are only read when a stage is selected. The others are always available, ready to be used in almost every aspect of the game. I'd suggest that you leave them out of the Character Editor, since there's a possibility that the game could either a) not locate the name and lock up, or b) display nothing. There are plenty of unused Cheat Options you could modify, though. It's better to change those that aren't already being used rather than those that are.
Very cool editor, PaD.
Now anybody can rename their weapons to the actual model names.
Edit: One quick thing I noticed was the improper spelling of both "infinite ammo on" and "infinite ammo off". First I thought it may have been an actual in-game error, until I checked it out myself. Probably a typo made in the original file. D'oh! Yes, we all make mistakes. |

How would you do that, Wreck? I've been using this, but I don't get how you would do this? |

You basically open the program, then edit what you want to edit, and press Submit or something and it tells you the GameShark codes needed. |

Well, this is a character editor. Not a string editor. _________________ Missions:
