Okay's since releasing the stage I've received a grand total of 50 emails asking that the bridge to eradicated. Besides Sub, Wreck, and I there hasn't been a peep otherwise about it. Only many hateful messages, and now I'm sick of reading them.

So, if it *really* is so universally hated, vote to get rid of it! Now's your chance! For the next thirty days I'm letting this poll run. If you want the bridge removed, say so now or forever hold your peace. -and more importantly, stop emailing about it.

Otherwise, anyone (even those with poor grammar and a dictionary filled with creative explitives) can use the editor to just make up their own little stage that doesn't include it. You have everything you need now. Everything.

If people are becoming that annoying about the, in my opinion, very cool take on the beta bridge, than I suppose there's no harm in releasing another IPS Patch with it removed. May as well keep the bridge for those who like it, and delete it for those who don't. It's kind of disappointing that they want a direct port only, with no modifications. This is GoldenEye, some exceptions must be made. And if a fully-automated bridge that spans a gap across one area to another - which was supposed to be accessible at one point anyway - is too much of a dramatic change, than you may as well silence their cries with a second version.

What gets me, is that there are so few of us actually working on this stuff, and yet people can be so quick to complain. They should be happy that this game is still being worked on by a handful of loyal hackers.

I can understand the weird graphics issues, which I might add only occur on emulators. Even if a second version is made it will confuse the snot out of online players with one or the other version and practically identical names. Oh, and there's that slight issue of it taking a few hours to send one of these crazy patches in the first place.

No, don't delete!
It's amazing addition - if they want to have one without the bridge, they can go port it themselves!

I don't think you quite understand: those aren't glitches! The plugins don't render the thing properly. It works fine on console. Graphics are fine - plugins are broken.

The only other thing has to do with the clipping, and that would require recoding the stan engine, which nobody is going to attempt.

Bah, people will complain about anything for any reason, I have quite a bit of experience with that. Never change the font in a popular RPG to something that gives you more room for dialogue. Never. You'll get so tired of hearing people complain you'll wish you never changed it in the first place.

Anyway, I say keep the bridge, it's a good addition to the stage and like you said if they don't like it they can change it themselves. If you really want to do a setup without it why not do them in the same ROM? One selection will have the bridge, the other one wouldn't. Really you don't even need to redo the clipping, just put a large invisible object blocking you from walking across the gap in the no bridge setup.

I wouldn't doubt it if people complain when I release Area 52 with the doors from Caverns instead of the double doors in place originally.

Edit: Which plugin are these people using, anyway? It showed fine in everything I tried except for Glide64++, which crapped out as soon as the stage started.

I think it's appauling how people can be really ungrateful enough to send you hate mail. Honestly!

Keep the bridge - I'm glad you added it!

I say remove the bridge. Not because it isn't amazing, but just rather because it makes it less authentic if that makes sense.

Now on a much more sensitive matter....could I dare say to keep the GE ammo crates? I say this because it is in fact in the GE engine, and honestly, it keeps the map as GE and not PD. Not sure if that makes sense. I may be sounding picky? Not sure. It's a feat to get them in there, but for me, keeping it GE is better. Also keeps me less confused about being in GE and not PD with thinking I can drop off ledges. Thanks guys.

After reading some of the other comments, I should revise what I've said. I think the non bridge version should be the default, and additions would be considered mods to the original port. I don't make any of my comments with disrespect to what you guys create. Just my opinions.

I think all the PD stages should have PD crates in GE. I dunno, just my feeling. When we make the super ROM it's extremely easy to make one for both ammo types.

I also like the bridge a lot because it was supposed to be in PD in some form anyways, but wasn't, and in GE since you can't fall on ledges, it helps you get across way quicker.

I'm in agreement about the PD ammo crates. They add a much more authentic feel to the maps. I do see where GE Master is coming from, however. But it's weird how some people either want a complete replication of the original, a semi-accurate portrayal, or a new update. The way I look at it is, Rare changed up the GE maps when they did them in PD, so why aren't we allowed to change the PD maps in GE? I suppose it all depends on which one we're talking about, though.
