A multiplayer setup for Control, complete with several objects from the solo mission. It is limited to two players to keep the frame rate at a tolerable speed during online play. The map still suffers from slowdowns when a large number of rooms are loaded at once.
Thanks to Wreck for the select icon hack, his suggestions for memory allocation changes, and helping to test the map. Skorpion also tested and helped me come to the decision to limit it to two players.

It's a shame that this one just doesn't hold up well enough for 3-Player mode. The framerate really starts to drop when you're around the main control room area. But it's better to keep it limited to 2-Players, rather than have other people suffer the sluggish gameplay that crops up. Not that it'd be hard for anyone to change the amount, if they know how to use the GoldenEditor. _________________

Yeah, that's what I figured, if people really want to play it with three or four players they can with a simple tweak in the editor. If they can't handle loading the ROM in the editor and making that tweak then they probably shouldn't bother trying it with three or four players.
It's just a shame it works so good on my computer when I'm not online, I feel like I misled you guys about how good the framerate was at first. Once I got online I was surprised by how slow it could get, even with two players. |

It's a shame that it's a 2 player level - the level itself had good potential in being a classic 3-4 player map.
Still good, nonetheless.
Another great addition to the multiplayer archive! |

Actually, they were for the most part, it's the plugins that aren't perfect. Try pushing up against walls in Silo using Jabo's plugin, you can almost go all the way through them. Try the same thing on console, see what happens. |

Sorry if you don't want people bumping old topics, but how do I pick Control? I patched the ROM, but I can't appear to pick Control as there is no Control displayed. Do I need to progress in single player to unlock it or something? |

I think you misunderstood me. I can pick the ROM and it appears as the correct name, but when I'm playing the ROM I can't pick the Control level. I don't know if I need to progress in Single Player to unlock it or what. |

Yeah, I have it set up like Rare's multiplayer levels, you need to complete it in solo to play it in multi.
Here's a save file with everything unlocked, if you don't have one you can use:
