I don't really play games much these days, but GTAIV was an essential purchase for me.
I believe they made the first half more of a tutorial to adapt you to what has changed - such as hailing a taxi (which is awesome as you actually see the cab ride from the passenger window!), picking up small objects to throw them, tapping a to sprint etc.
I won't spoil the second half too - experience the magic for yourself! |

I love the branching storyline where in some missions, you get to choose who you kill!

That's one of my favorite features, you can be choose to kill everyone, or be nice and let some people go. There are other choices, too, but I won't spoil them. It's not to the extent of KOTOR or Fable, but it's nice being able to spare someone's life, or kill them anyway.
