Seems like I'm not having much luck lately.

Now I cannot get the convert rom to function properly.

Tools ---> Convert Rom ----> Select Clipping for Aztec (tbg_azt_etc) ---> Click add uncompressed files to rom at pre-defined location ---> finish process of applying to rom.

When I do this with the older version of the editor, it works just fine, even with clipping files as modified and renumbered with the new editor. But when I try to do this with the new editor itself, the game crashes almost IMMEDIATELY after choosing Aztec from the mission menu. The ONLY difference is in what version of the editor I use, even working with identical modified files.

So is this another editor bug, or is something possibly screwed up in my settings?

Can you confirm that the file was properly inserted? I'm guessing you probably have a hex editor, so either search the rom for the matching file or jump to the location and do a comparitive-test thingie.

There was a glitch in a much older version of the editor that allocated the space correctly for the file but did not actually insert it. Hopefuly it didn't sneak back in.

Since I'm not really sure exactly what I'm looking for, maybe you can use this instead.

I used the old editor to insert the clipping file into a rom and then I used the new editor to do the same thing. I then generated an IPS patch using the 2 different resulting files. The IPS patch contains the differences between the two, right? The mere fact that an 8kb patch was generated tells me that the either the clipping file was not properly inserted, or something else was modified along the way.

So here ya go....hopefully you can interpret this...

Hmm, you're quite right. I wonder what happened. Just reinjected original aztec and it crashed.

Stupid mistake. Everyone regrab the editor in about 10 mins. Sorry. Not one Convert ROM was working in current editor - EEK.

All seems to be good now. I'm surprised I'm the first person to notice such a major glitch (unless I'm the only person who is using the file injector)

I think most people moved on to the 21990 editor, or simply use quick convert or project mode. But yeah, I'm glad you noticed it, new people using the editor would be quite frustrated.

I'm having a problem with the image tools in the new version, they're reporting all my ROMs as invalid, even my clean ROMs.

Same here. It's not very serious since I can save the levelmacros.ini and reinstall the application, and everything works again, but it's certainly a bug.

Apologies!! Fixed now. Mixup. It would work if your ROM were 0x100000 but not 0xC0000. Fixed now. Regrab. Anything else broken?

If you grab the latest version it will fix it. Yep, keep posting those bugsprays, they help organize and make me notice things I didnt' notice.
