Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I like all the old consoles a lot more than the new ones. I'm talking consoles like N64, SNES. They are durable and simple. They don't play movies or blu ray, they just play games. Does anyone think a good retro style console with good graphics will ever be released? I dislike the playstation and X box.
Also, the games on the old consoles didn't require an instruction manual or hours of use to get the hang of. These new games are super complicated, to the point where they aren't any fun. The controllers also keep getting bigger and more complicated too. |

I'd have to agree.
The more the gaming industry progresses, the less they focus on making a good engine and level design, and focus more on graphical detail and "inovative" features, which are just copied from other games and make the controls more confusing. you get used to it after awhile, but it really detracts from the gameplay, making it feel less like a game and more like a chore. Not to say that all next gen games are horrendus, as some games still managed to be entertaining for the the next gen consoles, but the majority of them (even a lot of first party games) aren't even worth a rent. |
