So I was rummaging around all my old Gameshark notes on my little slips of paper, I stumbled upon something I had completely forgotten about--my Goldeneye Strategy Guide. I thought I'd show you all, because I don't think there is too many of these around, although I could be entirely wrong. Who's seen/has one of these?

Front Cover...

Back Cover...

And just a sample page...

How are the actual strategies? Train doesn't sound too bad, although I don't know why they suggest switching to the PP7 to kill Ourumov, ZMG works just as well. In fact, I'd say using the ZMG is the best strategy, you can hit Xenia and buy yourself extra time, it's almost impossible to complete Train on 00 Agent without the extra time.

Although I don't have one, that guide looks familiar (esp. the front cover).

The actual strategies are... alright. They say to use the Tank Strategy in Runway and in Streets, both of which I completely disagree with (generally because I do speedruns, but also because the tank is to big and slow to drive around (and you can't speed strafe in a tank, heh)). And reguarding the Train strategy, actually the Watch Laser is the fastest and easiest way to go until you get to Ourumov and Xenia--that's when the ZMG comes in! Smile .

A friend of mine has also got one of those. I remember that it claims, that the DD44 uses Magnum rounds and stuff like that (which is obviously wrong, how all of us surely know)

Yeah, like at the bottom right of the sample page, it says that the Silver PP7 automatically aims for the head. Yeah right. If the Silver PP& did that, I'd use it all the time in NGPA Exotics....

I completely agree, the ZMG strategy is the best one. I always line up Xenia and Ourumov's heads and fire away.

Also, tell BradyGames that no weapon auto-aims at the head.

There are also some extreme typos in there. like they say the Magnum is in Dam and stuff.
It is pretty funny Laughing (<--Nervous Laugh)

Haha, thats awesome that you got that guide. I don't really like it personally, because like the other guy said, its full of mistakes. But, I bought it anyway a long time ago, condition isn't that great anymore:

I also bought this guide here:

Heres a few Pics from 2nd guide (I personally prefer this one):

I'll leave those as links, since they're kind of a big file size. Anyway, those others are from the Nintendo Guide, which only cost me $2.99. (how could I pass that up?).

The Brady Guide is decent, but I really prefer the 2nd one.

I hate it when Strategy guides make mistakes. It's almost like it's written by a bunch of "lazy gamers" who had a rigid time limit to write it in!

I usually try to stick to official guides!

Lol, on my guide, it says "Totally Unauthorized" vs the Official Nintendo Guide. Totally Unauthorized actually holds to it's title, because it made with so many mistakes!

Yeah. the only other Brady Games strategy guide I bought was for GTA IV, and so far its been accurate. Hopefully they've improved their methods for writing the guides, because I'd hate to have spent $20 on an inaccurate guide lol.

I didn't mind spending the money on on the Goldeneye Guide, because it was only like $5 at the time when I bought it years and years ago.

I really have to wonder though... how do they come to some of these conclusions. The Guide says "this book was published without their license, official seal, authorization, or participation.".

So how they got that the Silver PP7 automatically does head shots, or that the Magnum is in the dam, I have no idea. They'd have had to completely guess on that...

I wonder if that Brady Games strategy Guide is rare or semi-rare now a days... I'm sure many people have it, but I hardly ever see mention of it on any website.

It's been my experience that Prima makes the worst guides, not just in terms of strategy but also in quality of the book itself, they tend to fall apart fairly quickly.

I've bought a few Prima strategy guides actually, and haven't had any issues as far as the book quality falling apart, nor the accuracy either actually. Although, Its entirely possible I just got lucky with my guides.

I have alot of guides, from varying sources actually now that I think about it.

I have five guides.

007: Everything or Nothing
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
San Andreas
Vice City Stories
Liberty City Stories

2 of them are PRIMA and they tend to be really well.
