So I had this idea a few months back, when I was watching Austin Powers 3. It was during the Dr. Evil's Submarine scene, when Austin is shooting at Goldmember. Long story short, all the guns reminded me of Goldeneye. I thought to myself,"This looks like a great environment to play Goldeneye in!" So I whipped up some crude drawings of a Dr. Evil based Submarine. Last week, I dusted off the dust of the ol' Hammer Editor, and I got to work. I had it all set up from when I just wanted to experiment with stuff already. I constructed the main geometry of the level, which took me about 4-5 hours. (I'm new to this stuff, okay? Wink). Then I checked for ANY holes in the map, which took a bit (There were a lot) Afterwards, I textured the map. Here's a few screenies of what I've got....

Great so far! I have a question though: is this going a mission or a multi level?

When I first thought of the idea, I figured it to be a solo. Then, during the process of building it, I sort of changed my mind to Multiplayer. I'm sure I could make a quick mission out of it, but I really think It'd be best as Multiplayer. This one will definetly be included in my patch for an entirely new game..... http://shootersforever.com/forums_message_boards/viewtopic.php?t=2946

Looks spectacular! Seems like it could be a great solo mission to be.

It's both; I'm intrigued! You know, we could definitely use a new mission right about now, considering I released the latest one almost 3 months ago. Wink

I think the map would be great both ways, but right now, I'd like to make a multiplayer out of it. Then I'll make some sort of quick mission, similar to the office or something....

BTW - ladders don't really work in multi. You can't see other players on there, they warp top to bottom.

I figured something like that would happen, but I built some ramps/stairs prior to ladders, but they just didnt look right at all. Plus, there isnt really any room for stairs/ramps for where the others are (In the screenshots, I believe you can only see one ladder. There are a few more...)

I'm curious, how steep can a ramp be in Goldeneye before you can't walk up it anymore? Is there any limit? If not, one could make a very steep ramp just in front of a ladder so it would still look like you were climbing it, but it wouldn't suffer from any of the problem actual ladders do.

The guard tower thingy in the first picture is sweet and the third picture is amazing.

Reminds me of Citadel with all the wierd wall things.

You might be able to do a ramp, not sure how slanted it has to be to walk up. Just make sure you can't fall through to a different room tile, weird things can happen.

flopperr, you've motivated me enough to try the Hammer Editor and make a level of my own! Too bad I can't download it right now (site is down). Sad

Anyway, I can't wait to play this! I like the Complex look! Very Happy
