Who remembers when the Nintendo 64 came out! I was only 12 at the time, but I can remember camping out side of a Toys R' Us with my friends in the dead night.
I remember when the doors opened and everything. I got one of the Goldeneye Pack ones; the ones that came with Goldeneye and a Gold Controller. I still have it today. _________________

That's strange, considering the Nintendo 64 was released in North America on September 26th, 1996, nearly a year before GoldenEye 007 hit the shelves on August 25th, 1997. So how you got that special package the very first day is beyond me. Oh, I know. It must've been a beta version of GE, right? That must be it... _________________

Ours didn't come out until 1997, for some odd reason. Don't ask me why but they said the N64 COMES OUT TODAY!!!
So Seattle got the console late I guess IDK but all I can remember was camping outside of the Toys R Us for 5 days _________________

Yes, Seattle had to wait eleven extra months for the N64 to be released in the state of Washington. That's really believable... _________________

It'll be fun seeing how he digs his way out of that one.
Anyway, I wasn't all that interested in the N64 when it came out to be honest, until I played Goldeneye over at a friend's house, then I really wanted one. I remember Toys-R-Us had this exclusive neon green controller, it was so awesome looking (I think it glowed in the dark or something, I seem to remember it being displayed under a black light) but by the time I got my N64 they were only selling colored controllers with colored consoles. I got a dark green one but I would've much rather had the original black N64, to the point I bought one used for $20 a few years ago (This was mostly to get a used controller though, it was actually cheaper than buying two used controllers, go figure). |

idk remember what year it was, all i know it was around the time GE came out; and there were signs saying "GET YOUR N64'S HERE!! COMING DECEMBER 25!!!!". It could have been 1997, or whenever they released Goldeneye.
anyway, I played that system way to much. I have a good number of games I haven't beat yet _________________

You're right. You got me there.
I guess I'm just so used to typing the 2000's, that I didn't think of it. _________________

You'd think I'd be good with numbers, since I've been hacking N64 games for nearly eight years off and on. Yet somehow, dates seem to find a way to trick me. Next time I'm posting something regarding a certain year, I'll be sure to check into it before I click the submit button. _________________

I do remember the launch, but that was before people really got insane about these things. It was fairly low-key. I still have the promo videos Nintendo was so keen on sending out. It was all really pretty nifty, but I didn't get a chance to play one until GE was released.
I'm a mooch, so despite playing one for years I didn't actually get an N64 until they were phasing it out ;*) _________________ (\_/) Beware

My grandfather had gotten me and my older brother it for christmas.... It was the Donkey Kong 64 Combo Pack (With the green controller and console, I think?) Probably the funniest experience while using the N64, (before we got Goldeneye) was when we were setting it up, we couldn't figure out the power adapter. (That thing is HUGE) We were like "What part of this goes in here?" and "Why is it so big?" and then we finally realized, the whole thing just got shoved in there. But still, GE and DK64 are two of the greatest. |

I got mine at a used gaming store. Then someone stole my console and 30+ games so I had to start all over ... _________________
