Ive just noticed the number of complaints on the ZTNet Store adaptoid page, looks like they've taken a lot of unfulfilled orders. http://www.ztnetstore.com/product_reviews.php/products_id/38/reviews_id/227?osCsid=91da073dc3045b1e67d6b276fd3498df

Someone has posted info on how to contact the Michigan Attorney General, which is apparently what people need to do to have any change of a refund.

http://www.ztnetstore.com/product_reviews_info.php/products_id/38/reviews_id/216

looks like a long process but if it results in a refund then its worth it.

Sheesh, that's really not looking too good...
I know SubDrag ordered four at the same time, with one heading my way. He used a credit card, and I shot him the funds over PayPal for mine. That's over a hundred and fourty dollars before shipping and handling fees. Perhaps he should start considering what those other angered customers are doing and trying to get his money back.

^ Yeah, I read all that bad feedback too. S**tty, ain't it? Confused

This is the most recently legitimately sold (another one with a much higher end price was won by somebody with 0 feedback) Wishtech/ZTNet Adaptoid on eBay. Check out the end price:

Shortened link.

I want one, but not THAT bad! Shocked

That makes the ZTNet price look like a bargain!

Which may be an explaination for why so many people haven't received their orders, yet. Maybe they figured there would be a much higher profit from selling on eBay, rather than through their website. They'd need to sell three at the site cost just to match one auctioned on eBay... Confused

Then why have they not listed any yet?

Looks to me like just another took-your-money-and-ran situation. Sad

makes me really happy I got my two from jandaman years ago for 25 each, even in a moment on my life when I was suffering from lack of interest in gaming. Then again, makes my sad I did not order 4.

You guys could probably make one of those inexpensively. Getting a used or broken N64, taking it apart, and using a male on both sides USB cable (not the mini USB used on mp3 players) you could probably solder the wiring together if the N64 has the right amount of wires.

I scanned one of my Adaptoids.
Not a simple cable, rel. The price is justified, or it was when it was lower, at least.

I do recall seeing a schematic of the Adaptoid circuitry on a website, made available in case anybody wanted to make their own. Of course, it might just have been for a regular connector (no accessory support), but I do have a feeling that it was for an Adaptoid... Question

True, the adapter end is not from the n64.

Just found this!

http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/gc_n64_usb/index_en.php
No support for memcard/rumble, though.

It could be a good alternative and the guy even sells pre-made ones cheaper than Adaptoids. He also makes the complete schematics available for you to build yours from scratch, or you can buy all/some of the parts pre-built from him and then just assemble them.

Also found this one, which is for parallel port. I have no idea how good/bad it is

http://www.emulatronia.com/reportajes/directpad/n64/esquema.htm

It's from an old Spanish emu site. I can translate if someone is interested in it. there's also a file with a PCB print in that page.

EDIT: Emulatronias's schematics are based on this:

That's the schematic I remember seeing. I originally saw it here. It has accessory support just like the Adaptoid. Cool

The prebuilt connector is no longer available for sale, but those schematics don't look too terribly difficult (I took an electronics course once. Turns out soldering really isn't that hard).

Here's what I'm wondering: Would it work with a parallel-to-USB adapter Question
