hey guys. i just obtained an n64 and remember playing perfect dark back in the day. i always remember playing 4 players against all of the bots... but when i try playing the game now, i can only sign in two players. it will show 'PLAYER 2 PRESS START, PLAYER 3 PRESS' etc in all of the corners, but when two people sign in, the other two controllers can't sign in.
isn't it possible to play multiplayer with four humans? what am i missing? i checked everywhere in the game and can't figure it out. i'm wondering if i just have to unlock it?
i'm clueless and want to play 4 player multi, otherwise it makes the game a lot less fun. if somebody can help me out here, itd be appreciated, this was the only forum i could find that can hopefully help me out. |

You need an expansion pak, otherwise you will be limited to two players, won't be able to play the solo missions, and have a whole lot of other limitations. Buy first party Nintendo, the third party expansion paks are garbage and PD will burn them out in no time. |

Maybe you don't have an expansion pak, or perhaps there's some option arround blocking the use of more than 2 players?
I'm just throwing you a bone, since I have never experienced that.
EDIT: DB, you get ahead of me again . Had the reply editor open but had to go and replied later. So I ended up saying the same as you, only with less assertivity. |

I think on some forums, like the Rare Witch Project, you can give users "Reputation Points". This message board doesn't have that option, but atleast you guys both get a handful of invisible points! Tis the thought that counts. _________________

So you have original N64?
Is there Expansion Pack inside?
If not, you can't play with 4 players.
Buy expansion pack (from e-bay or somewhere).
If you use emulator, check the emulator options for memory, change it to 8mb, and also check out your controller inputs. |

i got one more question, and instead of making another thread, i figure i'd just keep all my noobishness compacted in one thread.
for all the challenges, there are spaces for four stars... on some challenges i have a star in just the first space, some in the second, some in both first and second, and some just third stars... how do i get all of the stars? does it just give you a star of how good you played the challenge?
so, basically, if someone can explain how the star system works for challenges, it'd be much appreciated. |

The stars are pretty much useless, they just indicate how many human players there we're, while the Challenge was completed, so if you play challenge through one single player, you get the first star, and if you play one through with one of your friends, you get the second star from the left and so on...
Some challenges are more difficult to play through on many human players than others. |
