Someone may have noticed this before, but I don't remember it ever being discussed. Pads 004F-0051 are lumped in with the ones used by the wooden crates on the dam's docks; the special thing about these three is that they are on the island. Big deal, the island had crates, right? Well, they just happen to be on the only part of the island that has clipping. My guess is the crates remained over there even after the trip to the island was scrapped, and that explains where there is clipping on one tiny part of it, but not the rest. The crates are just visible from the docks using the sniper rifle, I tried to grab a screenshot but the fog interferes with that and makes them much harder to see in the shot than they are in the game.

I actually remember finding those three for the first time. I'd reposition the Supply Truck and a guard over there and fire at them from the docks. It was really cool to see pads still existed on the Island. But what was even sweeter, was changing your starting pad to get you over there. The only other pad I could find was for the alarm. Since it wasn't within the clipping area, there was no room pointer 'plink' for it to load from. Zoinkity ended up fixing that later on, though.

Man, the old days of moving two objects at a time with a GameShark in the Memory Editor and trying to track them down in the level. I made two entire pad maps for Facility doing that! Razz

You shouldn't have to. If you have access to the GoldenEditor, you can switch modes. Loading up a PD map, you can view the pad locations. When you click on one, it'll tell you its ID number. There really shouldn't be any reason for people to go through all that work, anymore. A map is still nice to have, however.

Never paid really much attention at the hidden island's crates? Can't you see them if you zoomed in with a sniper rifle? Or do you have to get the game shark and walk over their to see them?

They don't exist in the final game, only the pads for them do. Based on the fact that there's clipping on a small portion of the island where those pads are located, it's likely that they left the crates over there for some time before deciding to remove them.
