Sure, every game has flaws, including GE.
I think the framerate is GE's worst flaw. GE simply can't run at full speed with 10+ guards on your screen. But despite this, GE is still one of my favourite games of all time. |

The framerate has never bothered me, drops are pretty rare in solo and two player multiplayer, which is usually what I'm playing.
I really only have one complaint about the game: Guard limitations. GoldenEye's guards were probably the smartest ever seen when the game came out, but they're way too exploitable whenever there is a window, railing, or height difference between you and them. Rare worked around this limitation by using a customized action block in a few places, but it's ridiculously easy to exploit them in some stages like Caverns. |

well i think that added a nice stealth element to the gameplay, but yeah it can get pretty ridiculous.
I honestly would only change 1 thing about GE: the fact that its GE. idk about you but when i'm playing GE the last thing on my mind is the movie. i dont really even think of it as a james bond game. all the best stages don't even follow the movie. i think that some of the stages are kinda dumb, a chore to play through (jungle, control, streets, etc), while i've recently played fan-made levels that I think are better or as good as rare's works (such as the newest complex mission, that was GENIUS, or even the grid mission). |

Yeah, I think it works pretty well in some places, like the windows in Bunker where you can peek in and shoot a guy. The good thing about those situations is that when you shoot that guy everyone else in that room will come running to attack. The guards in Caverns are usually spaced out enough that you can shoot one, and another that's around a tiny bend in the railing or something won't even react to it.
When I did my Silo mission (and later Complex), I really wanted to have a sniper on an upper walkway that would shoot at you when you got into his sight. I already knew that the guard wouldn't be able to see you, but what I didn't realize is that you actually can't force a guard to shoot over a railing either, they won't fire, and if they do the bullets will be clipped by an invisible wall. That was kind of disappointing, I ended up having lookouts in Complex, they'd come running after Bond when he got into a place where they should've been able to see him, since they couldn't shoot at him.

First off, thanks for the compliments. Second, I recall hearing, though I don't remember where, that MGM was actually upset with how violent and un-Bond-like GE turned out. It's funny, because GE is one of the less violent shooters out there (well, as unviolent as killing nearly everyone in sight can be), it rewarded you for being stealthy and not just blasting your way through the missions. |

screw mgm for those opinions, screw nintendo for not caring, screw ea for all their sh*tty bond games, screw activision for their recently worthless attempt at one, screw rare for perfect dark zero, screw all the cod4 and halo kids who just don't understand.

My only real beef with this game is how long the pause screen takes to come up. Sometimes it takes up to 3 seconds, during which you're totally helpless and can be severely hurt or even killed.
If Rare was going for realism, I suppose they succeeded, but they should've frozen everything else in the game while the menu loads. A shame, really; using the watch as the pause screen WAS a cool feature... but they went and ruined it by making the player so vulnerable during the loading process. That stripped away the coolness and left only infuriation.
Other than that, great game. I just hate the pause issue.

Yeah, that is kind of annoying. I'm so used to it now that I just don't open the menu when any guards are around, there's rarely any need to. |

I've tried beating certain missions on 00 Agent without taking damage, but always seem to get nailed in the back whenever I go to check the watch menu. Either when I need a gadget, or I'm double-checking my objectives. It really does get frustrating when attempting such a task.
Otherwise, I either make sure no one is around to attack me, or I try to adjust my angle to closely match the watch view. It can help cut down the time a little bit, since you don't need to look down before the watch is raised.
On the other hand, I bet there are plenty of speedrunners who love this feature. _________________

The flinch when hit. It makes you invincible. Can be good and bad like in multi you have to wait to attack them. PD fixed this. Also that the games age makes it hard to multi with people. _________________ A.K.A. Greatermaxim on youtube.

Thats more a problem with kids these days (by kids I mean anyone who doesn't want to play Goldeneye. ) than the actual game.
I have no issues with the game.
I like the little changes/different things, so that it is a different experience to Perfect Dark.

I think it's illogical that there are unlimited guards in some levels, so that you can't kill everybody. _________________ For England, James? |

Wasn't that to stress the importance of being stealthy and avoiding alarms? I'd prefer a seamingly endless swarm of guards over a mission failure screen, anyday.
Some levels still had spawning security even without an alarm triggered. But could you imagine how boring and easy levels like Runway and Cradle would be without them? _________________

bad things in GE? not many, maybe that framedrop (when explosions are in screen)... and... no blood (enough)... and... ummm...
yes, one of the greatest games ever made.
one thing would be the lack of iron sights, but back then... no game had it.

I guess there aren't any things I seriously dislike about this game. It would be cool if the bodies didn't disappear immediately, but I understand this would probably gum it up with all the extra graphic objects.
Oh, and the game would have been fine without the klobb. |
