While trying to find the trailer for the movie Live Wire, I stumbled across this listed under GoldenEye 007.

It has Beta Gun Names/Beta KF7 in action..

First off, if anyone else is using Firefox and having trouble viewing this, switch over to IE or another browser. I couldn't get it to play with Firefox no matter what I did.

Second, this actually has some content that I've never seen before! Dam's briefing uses the background section from the text file in Perfect Dark, but the M briefing is the same as the final. The covert modem screen is different, white with buttons on it, rather than scrolling text (it makes a lot more sense, actually...). Tokarev TT33 in the watch menu, both unsilenced and silenced PPK's in Dam, Runway start point on the conveyor belt (camera goes through the wall), AK47 in Dam, guards with hats in Dam, and it ends with a nice shot of Connery in multiplayer. Awesome, awesome video.

Also, the red ring around the GE logo is missing after the gun barrel.

The BETA KF7 looked awesome in use i wish they had of kept that one

Though in that beta promo that was found on Dailymotion it seemed to have it in tact.

As well as early videos from 1995 I have seen of the game on youtube, The gun barrel animation has changed as well.


Many of the features i.e Red Ring, Loss of Hats etc. seemed to have been added at the last minute.

It also seems Rare intended to release the All Bonds in the game, and that they made it through development to the end before being removed along with the KF7 soviet and weapon names.

I must be the only person that thinks the new one looks a lot better. I'd like to get a hold of that model just for something new, but I'm glad the gun got a redesign before release.

I do like the one they used a lot better it is actually my favorite gun in the game i would have just liked to play with the other model just once

I wonder if many of the textures of the Beta KF7 are still around in the games memory. I do highly doubt it..but Rare also left a lot of stuff behind in the memory, so you never know.

You would have to look through the texture list that came with the Face Mapper,

it would be cool to find the model, probably be worth using it once or twice. The re-designed KF7 seems very out of place, like it was intended to be a different weapon before ending up as the new KF7 Model.

I had some success retexturing the new KF7 to look like the old one, but couldn't get it looking very good. The new KF7 is rounded on the top, the old one was flat, and I couldn't find the right texture for the grip (it was probably overwritten by the new one).

Wow. That's awesome. I knew I saw that in a wal mart a long time ago, and finally some site had it! Wonder why they moved runway start - looks like they added more space or something there than now?

This screenshot was nearly impossible to capture because it literally lasted only 1 single frame in that video, but I managed to catch it. I posted it compared to the final version. Notice the letter capitalization, the rewording of the last sentence, and the removal of the dam image.

EDIT - I just noticed this as well - the name of the dam was changed as well!



EDIT #2 - regarding the dam image being present on that screen - in the final version its only available on the objectives screen which is the first screen. I wonder if in the beta version, it showed you your objectives LAST instead of first - after all the background information was given. Because you'll also notice that in the beta, that image was indeed removed then on the next screen. I'll bet objectives were shown as the last screen.
