Hey, I was browsing around and came across a game for N64 called 007 The World Is Not Enough. What makes Goldeneye so popular over this game?
I never even hear about The World Is Not Enough? Was it just a flop or something?

It was quite bad game in every aspect compared to Goldeneye007, it wasn't bad game, no, but it things wrong.

The multiplayer (with everything unlocked) is OK, the singleplayer sucks.

The World Is Not Enough isn't the worst game that I have played (Soldier of Fortune on PS2 anyone!)

Compared to GoldenEye, it is a flop for many reasons - for example; poor enemy AI, bad voice acting. Also, I found that once I had completed the missions, I never really went back to play them again - it felt like a chore!

Saying that, without comparison to GoldenEye, it fares quite well. If you're going to try it, play the N64 version of the PSOne version - much better gameplay! Wink

I agree with most of these posts. TWINE is an OK game, but having played Goldeneye and then this one it just paled in comparison. The controls aren't as smooth, the missions aren't as fun and the AI is just strange at times.

There also weren't any cool cheats to earn in single player.

I've been meaning to get a copy, but never have. I did rent it years and years back, though. I guess the reason I haven't run out to get it is my lack of excitement towards the game. As a first-person shooter on the N64, it was fine. But being the follow-up (not counting Tomorrow Never Dies, for obvious reasons) to such a blockbuster like GoldenEye, it failed miserably.

No no no! It's awesome! The graphics rock, the gun are faster than Goldeneye, and I think I will trade in Cruisin' World and get this game. It didn't unlock my Gameshark.

I figured, because there are element of Perfect Dark in it, such as the silencer on the Wolfram P2K. They sound alot like the PD weaponsets.

heh, well, both PD and GE use "commercial" sound effects.
These effects are recorded by professional studios and sold to all kinds of media production companies: videogames, tv, film...
It's not that they ripped the sound from PD or anything, they are used by everyone, so it's only natural you hear the same effects everywhere.
