On this level (on 00 Agent) you can spare the life of one hostage and still complete the level.
In order to complete objective A as quickly as possible I free the first 5 on my travels and then shoot the 6th in the last room (which for me is the large room at the front of the ship with the second bomb). I think that this enables me to complete the objective quicker as I don't have to wait for this 6th one to 'disappear' if you know what I mean.
Anyway, sometimes it still takes quite a while for the objective to be completed as they run around like headless chickens before disappearing or fading away.
My question is "Is there anywhere to stand or any trick that helps speed this along?" |

That's actually not a bad question. Those pesky hostages can easily consume a small chunk of time while waiting for the objective to be registered as complete. It's probably a good idea to avoid following them, which is a given. The more time you follow them around, the less you're getting done in the mission. Even looking in the opposite direction could help. The order in which they are released likely plays a big role, too. But I'd also be interested in hearing what anyone else may have to say. _________________

I followed a hostage once and yes if you can see him or in some distance have not looked into action block so not sure but yeah they just run in a circle so that makes it pretty hard for you to avoid them unless you know their routine off by heart where they go and calculate where they are at certain times it is pretty hard to avoid them so yeah they are pesky i hate hostages and civilians and scientists _________________ "We have always found the Irish a bit odd, They refuse to be English" Winston Churchill

Yes, I normally hang around the front of the ship going around in a circle myself hoping that it'll help as you can generally hear them runing around in the inside. As you say, it's best not to be around them as they will not go away.
I wonder if there is a set order to release them?
Talking of disappearing / appearing characters, I enjoy the end of the jungle where the soldiers are defending the lift. It's like a blood bath! I launch 3 grenades at them and then go in on a full scale assault! After you have wiped them out if you run back far enough and then turn around and head back toward the lift, half a dozen or so soldiers will have appeared. It's funny to leave a grenade before you do this so it blows them up!
Anyway I'm sure you all know of this in Goldeneye, it's possible to do in other levels too
I actually like the scientists, civilians and hostages most of the time. There are times however where the scientists bug the hell out of me. Like on the Caverns where there run towards the mainframes as you blow them up. Or they run into your line of fire - it's shame that this isn't registered as suicide! |

Ok shoot the guards ONLY that are only guarding holding the hostages, don't screw around with the others, then when you head down stairs to the engine room and head towards the back doors and this will allow you too sneak up behind the guards and shoot them in the head. _________________ An Elevator from Earth; then to the Heavens...

With all due respect I think you have missed the point of my original question |
