 |
|
Does anyone here know of a good, reliable, and free FTP program I can download? I used to use SmartFTP, but they no longer offer trial versions. I also just tried CuteFTP, which ran up a few days ago. Without an FTP, I can't upload any of my files. There's a couple of pictures I'd like to put up, so any help here is very much appreciated. _________________

What about your OS's ftp client?
Every OS has one. ftp.exe for Windows, commandline, of course
Latelly I use FileZilla for my seldom ftp transfers, so I can't really tell you about it's reliabity beyond that it hasn't failed on me yet. It's GNU licensed.

Here ya go wreck, I still happen to have the original setup file for this.

I've been using that now for about 8 years - its an older version that you can't get anymore. Easily the best simple, free, ftp program out there. |

Thanks to everybody for their help...
Dragonsbrethren: I didn't realize until just earlier, that I do have FireFox on this computer. I always seem to use IE, though.
radorn: I wasn't aware that my OS may contain an FTP. Also, thanks for letting me know about FileZilla.
BMW: This is exactly what I needed. Very easy to use, well laid out, and performs effeciently. So long as this doesn't expire, it'll see much use from me. _________________

Oh, I tried softmodding my Xbox and FTP'ing files for Halo and Halo 2, but I never really could figure out why it refused to connect to the Xbox's IP after typing user name: xbox, and password: xbox.
Somehow I think I used the wrong program. I honestly had my PC connected to a port which was located in another room. The ethernet cable plugged straight into the wall and then, of course, goes through it. It then extends through the second port like 2 rooms ahead in my house out of that second wall (using another cable) into the router. My PC was connected to the router that way! My Xbox was connected directly to the router. The router was connected to the internet. WTF? |
