This is a great video!

It features:
No light switch in dD Central,
No table with switch in dD Central,
Trent Easton guards,
No fence in Area 51 (where rocket launcher is),
The Carrington Institute ramp,
A now non-existent BETA track (at the end of video),
Guns moved on their sides more often,
The Magnum is called "Couger Magnum",
All levels have no doors (except dD Central).

EDIT: Also there is this trailer which has what looks like a covert modem screen as a temporary placement for the light switch in dD Central. Whats interesting is that a message comes up telling you that the lights are now off!

Also, here is a BETA pic of Grid multiplayer, with different textures!

strange light effects in skedar.
also funny how Joanna holds the guns sideways, even if she isn't close to enemies.
the way she holds the weapons upwards isn't included anymore, sadly, looks cool.

and goddamn, I want that ramp back... I wonder why they did remove it... :/

I agree!

Shame that the coolest things usually get cut from games! Rolling Eyes

I think the "light" is the G5 logo, if I'm correct! Wink

I've seen that Grid shot before, and damn those textures were hideous.

I know! Very Happy

You can see why they changed it - and it was for the best!

Yeah, the Grid used to look horrible. The walls almost look like the texture used for the floors in the Carrington Institute and Felicity. As well, the floor looks like the Bunker flooring. Maybe they were just temporary placeholders until they decided on something.

Hmm, is it just me, or does the CCTV Camera look a lot more like the GoldenEye one in these beta videos?

Here's another cool one I have never seen before...

And it starts with the most common line in trailer history: "In a world..." Razz

Dope! Confused
I didn't even realize. I only clicked on the first link, then saw the other video under the "related videos" list. I must have skipped over the second link, straight to the screenshot of the Grid. What a boneheaded move... Razz

Yeah I love both of those videos. They are from pdark.com in its heyday. Back then they made me very, very excited and they are still awesome.

I had that on VHS and I watched it over and over...
...sadly I no longer have it Crying or Very sad

These stairs instead of an elevator in CI look great.
I guess that, at that point, the GE engine that deals with clippin wasn't yet updated for that.
Maybe they didn't even plan to add it from the start...

Yeah, during the N64 age, I started to buy VG magazines (you won't know them because they were Spanish, though) and they released quite a few VHS tapes.
Some came from Nintendo themselves, to be distributed by those magazines, and even some were mailed to Nintendo suscribers. I had a few dupes thanks to this.
I had quite a good amount of beta footage in these, but, at the time I didn't know what a beta was, and didn't seem to have any value after the games were available the games.
I regret having parted with them and I can only talk about what remains in my memory now...

Anyone noticed that single player scene with multiple maians on your side killing dadadyne guards in the multiplayer skedar arena? xD
