now im not sure since ive never tried but i can speculate. could it be that the PD textures are of an unsupported BMP format for the wad. XSI doesnt support the Ge texture format. Iknow when i make my maps in XSI i extract the GE texture i want, draw a colourd dot on it in paint, and resave it. For 4000 files that would be real time consuming. I can recall Paint Shop Pro haveing a batch/macro utility. Just write a simple macro to open a file and save it to a new format. Then set that macro to all the files in the folder. (had to do this before for something completly unrelated)
so just try saving one pic in a bunch of diff formats eg: 8 colour or 256, or 24-bit ect. if you find you can import it with one of those, then thats your problem. then do it for the rest.
Hope that works |

Yeah, I can't even get any of the .bmps included with the GoldenEditor to load in Photoshop. Neither the GE or PD ones can be opened. It sounds like Wally may be experiencing the same problem. _________________

They are I think 16-bit which is not an official bmp type but usually works - batch change to a normal bmp type. |

Which makes me wonder something, SubDrag.
What's the reason that the textures in the editor are 16bit while you can only import 8bit bitmaps? in what format are they in the game exactly?
And what about grayscale bitmaps? |

I'll have to grab this and see how she looks in a bit. I'm actually messing around in Hammer right now, so I'll have to wait until I'm finished doing what I'm doing. _________________

It was originally coded by Ice Mario 16 bit, and I just never changed it - it seems to work the way it is even if it's a little odd |

That's really surprising, I would expect Photoshop to be able to handle anything. They open fine with both of the programs I use commonly (GraphicsGale and IfranView). |
