Am I the only one who thinks the flashcarts look like space invaders?

Interesting - this post has been started since 2009 & I'm JUST finding out about all this right now? Surprised

Very Happy Glad to know there is an N64 cart now (I already have an NES PowerPak).

Any possibility of playing N64 disk drives games? Razz

Prob not. Sad

technically it could be possible to emulate the 64DD within an hypotetical cart because the ext slot is just a mirror of the cart slot. they are the same electrical connection.
but to do so, you'd more than double the RAM it currently has, some interface to allow disk swap emulation (since 64dd disks can be hotswapped, unlike carts), and more importanly, actually reversing the 64DD, because that's not done yet.

why isn't? well, an important reason is that it was only released in japan and hence only japanese games were released for it, plus not many games were released at all.
Now some prototypes of 64DD games are surfacing it seems, so interest may rise (let's hope the catastrophes in japan haven't destroyed too much N64 material, either), but as of now, the 64DD's workings remain pretty much unknown, in practical terms.

Depending on cost, perhaps in future make a GE:X Label to slap on top. Those look fantastic!

Ah, excellent!
I'm even happier now that I skipped out on getting a 3DS. The price tag isn't bad, either. With it being sent from the USA, shipping & handling costs should be reasonable, as well (since I'm in Canada). Doesn't seem like it'll be too much longer before this thing is up for grabs. Smile

Thanks for keeping us all informed, Radorn.

well well. due to craputer putting a halt to most/all of my activity, it seems I've been missing on yet another N64 flashcart in the making.

The EverDrive64 by KRIKzz, a guy from Ukraine

http://www.retrocollect.com/News/nintendo-64-flash-card-everdrive-64-in-development.html

his site is http://krikzz.com/ where you can see some other flashcarts by him, but not the n64 one yet. for that you'll have to look it up yourself.

His flashcarts seem a bit simpler than neoflash and 64drive, and it might also be cheaper, but that's just an impression I got from looking at pictures. For conclusions we'll have to wait for more details.
