Well, you've certainly got some fun games in there! I've either played or seen each of those you have listed at some point. It really depends on what type of game you enjoy more...

Fighting: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I recently purchased this game after a long time waiting for it to drop in price. However, I've only played it for a few hours and would like to trade it in for something else. I know it's one of the highest rated titles for the Wii, and playing as all those Nintendo characters in one game is exciting, but it just didn't grab me. Maybe multiplayer would be more fun, since that seems to be the bigger draw for people.

Side-Scrolling Platformer: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Now this is a wonderful game that brings that special nostalgic feeling. If you're a fan of the old Mario games for NES and SNES, this'll be a nice treat. It's a lot like Super Mario World in many aspects, but manages to stay fresh. Multiplayer, though often frustrating, is also great fun.

Racing: Mario Kart Wii
I enjoyed this one, as well. The difficulty level was decent, especially compared to the brutal behavior of some racers in GameCube's Double Dash. There's a good number of characters and vehicles, and also a nice supply of tracks. What's really cool is that Nintendo took classic tracks from past Mario Kart games and remade them for the Wii.

3D Adventure: Super Mario Galaxy
This is a fantastic game. I'm really looking forward to the sequel to this one. Though it maintains the Super Mario 64 formula, there's so many crazy gravity changing areas that players are offered a new and unique experience. What's even better, is after you've beaten it once, you're actually given a reason to play through it another time.

Virtual Life (Sim): Animal Crossing: City Folk
The only one I haven't tried myself. My brother's girlfriend was practically addicted to it for a few months, so I'd seen her play it quite often. It seems interesting enough, but games that don't have a point to them (or an ending, for that matter) seem... pointless. If you like running around for hours, picking fruit, watering flowers, decorating your house, shopping for stuff, and maybe even going to another town owned by a friend, than you'll get your fill here.

Anyways, I voted for Super Mario Galaxy. Not only because it felt like something fresh, but because of how well executed it was. It supplied me with many hours of fun. Maybe it'll be the same for you. Smile

Of the ones I've played, I'd recommend Super Mario Galaxy as well. That said, I think I'd like New Super Mario Bros. Wii a lot better; I've never been a huge fan of the 3D Mario games.

I agree with Wreck's assessment of Animal Crossing. I've played them all, and I've gotten bored with them all within weeks. They start out pretty fun, in a pointless sort of way, but once you've read all of the preset conversations there's really not much to do anymore. Each game has gotten progressively worse at attempting to force you to play almost daily, too.

If you're up for suggestions that aren't on your list, I would definitely go with Metroid Prime Trilogy. You get the two best games from the GameCube, with excellent motion-based controls, and Prime 3 on top of that (which is my favorite Wii game, and likely won't be dethroned anytime soon).

I've also been considering picking up the Metroid Prime Trilogy, as I've never played any of the games before. If it comes highly recommended by you (DB), I might have to get a copy sometime.

Another terrific title for the Wii, though I don't know if it's what you're into (and also seems more... M for Mature, compared to the others listed), is Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. It takes the graphics featured in the GameCube version, packs in the extras from the PlayStation 2 release, and adds in the Wii Remote & Nunchuck control scheme. It really is the ultimate form of the game. Even if you've played it on another console (as I did, owning the PS2 game first), the Wii Edition stands out from the rest and fits the Wii beautifully.

The Wii is capable of playing GameCube games, and has ports for the controllers and memory cards. I'm not sure how much you'd get for a GameCube nowadays, but if you figure you won't be needing it anymore, selling it isn't a bad idea. I parted with mine, as well.

Spyster: Are you sure Super Mario Galaxy has a multiplayer option? I don't remember reading anything about it in the instruction manual or online.

Hey, an early Christmas gift! What a nice mother you have, Aries. It's pretty cool of her to let you and your brother play it a week early. I'm also glad to hear that you're getting some enjoyment out of your Super Smash Bros. Brawl game. It's one of the highest rated games on the Wii so far, and you got it for a great price, too. I still think your next game should be Super Mario Galaxy, but I'm sure Brawl will keep you entertained for a while. Smile

Wii Fit and similar Wii games are also TREMENDOUS fun. My grandma has a Wii at her house because there are regularly a couple relatives hanging out at her house, and she got this game called Wii Resort, I believe, and it is great fun. One game I was just playing was a swordfighting game and it was hilarious. Personally, I think games like these are what the Wii is for. Maybe if Nintendo made a more standard controller for the Wii I would play more Wii games.

Yeah, the Wii definitely has a good number of party titles that are sure to get your family all playing together. Regular gamepads can confuse many non-gamers, especially seniors. The Wii Remote really simplifies everything (in a very advanced way) and makes games fun for everyone.

Unfortunately, Nintendo has been catering to non-gamers with this console. The hardcore gamer has all but been left in the dust, scratching for quality titles as they find their way in. Those are few and far between, however. For every Super Mario Galaxy, there's fifteen cooking games. For every Resident Evil 4, there's twenty sports packages. I'm sure it's the same on other consoles, but the difference here is quite significant.
