I was thinking that making it like a door would work until I remembered doors don't rotate around the middle of themselves. But there are also sliding doors in GE, would it be possible to make a new type of object or door?

The table parts are both down as shutter; I think those just drop into the ground. The chairs don't have an opening method listed in the editor.

If you change orientation, and snap up vector differently to match opening you desire, I think this would work?

I tried that, but I couldn't get the door to rotate the way I wanted. It seemed like no matter how the door object was rotated, the door always swung the same way. I can try again, but it doesn't seem as simple as just changing the snap-up vector. I thought that would work, too.

You have to change the up vector and at the same time, rotate your prop model itself. That way you change what direction it rotates by changing the model itself's direction (in DeleD)

Ah, okay. I'll give that a shot sometime, then. It'll be really cool to get the rotating tabletop working, even if it serves no practical purpose in the mission.

Yes, the chairs in Aztech do fold 'down'.

Trev

P.S. Guarbage bin/skip done. Do you want it to look different? It is a port from Perfect Dark - Chicago.

Trevor: Just wondering what your process of porting from PD was? Did you reformat the model file itself, or did you rip the information another way, likely while running an emulator? I'm interested in seeing what methods are available to us. Some might be faster or more reliable, especially for complex props.

Nahh... I cheated. I used the setup editor.

I knew there were bins in chicago so I went there now that they load in visual editor (Still not on my pc/server though (sig)).

Trev

P.S. Talking of sig's I can't wait till you finish your project, its a dream. I still think the MI6 model from TWINE should be instead of Carrington Institute. Also Will you be re-instating the watch? It seems as though the holo-Arm is the watch but just re-modeled and doesn't come all the way in.

You use model editor to convert, or exporting .obj?

That one looks good, can't come up with any "improvements" really... Maybe you could see how it would look like with a metal texture that doesn't have those "rectangles" as details, either way, it should be useful.

isn't it a bit too "modern" for 1964?

I don't think there have been any major advancements in dumpster technology since then, and that certainly wouldn't look out of place in a modern setting.
