I got a satanic, demonic, little hitch hicking bastard adware program. I know where it is, i scanned it with norton, it found it. I went to delete it... It says it can;t be deleted... WTF. So then I go to manually delete it, still ntohing. I close all programs running in the background, still nothing. I DO NOT WANT TO ASK MY DOCTER ABOUT VIAGRA... I AM 16 DAMN IT, I CAN STILL GET IT UP! Any advice on how to get this menace out of my computer?

I'm at war withb this ****er, somtimes it says... This program can not be deleted because it is in use, and other times it says somthing else that I forget. I thaught the ones that reload themselves were bad, this one won't even leave my computer.

SpyBot Search And Destroy solves most spyware problems. It is free, get it. And oh yeah, Norton sucks. AVG Free Edition Anti-Virus, Spybot, and ZoneAlarm Free and youre all set, lol.

Go into Safe Mode, and see if you can delete it there.

Also, there's a guaranteed procedure that I will describe if Safe Mode doesn't work.

Antivirus does not register spyware as viruses. You need something like Spybot or Ad-Aware to completley get rid of it the right way. Going into Safe Mode as well as other methods like booting from the XP cd Recovery Console or if its 98 or FAT formated, any live CD, should be last resort, at least after Spybot.

Spybot doesn't find everything. If he knows where the file is, Safe Mode would probably be the fastest way to get rid of it.

But it doesnt make it the best way. Spyware as bad as this, it could have the kernel patched, many other progs running in the background to lock the program, etc. Sure, the prog will be gone, but your resources are still being wasted by its leftovers. A spybot scan doesnt take very long, if it doesnt find it, then you do Safe Mode.

Leftovers can be a pain. I once tried to uninstall Norton, which is devious for its corrupted uninstalls - it actually told me I had to subscribe to uninstall it. I did my only option and deleted it. Afterwards I had to track down parts of the registry because it had an annoying startup, asked about things that were not there anymore. Its really not too bad, but Im just saying its much simpler if you just run spybot, then go into Safe Mode.

Huh? Why? You dont have to uninstall Norton, I mean unless you want to. I just suggested AVG Free. Anyway - did you run Spybot? lol.

.... ZoneAlarm is a firewall. It will prevent the program from accessing the internet and annoying you as much, but you really need to get rid of it. Didja run spybot? lol.
