I have made an official petition for Sega to make a Dreamcast 2. Please share this on all the Sega and Dreamcast forums you know and be sure to try and get it stickied on those forums if you can. Speaking of sticking, please sticky this topic. The URL to the petition is: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/dreamcast2/

The flame for this died with Duke Nukem Forever.

Sega will never make another Dreamcast and most of us came to accept that sometime in 2004; and even after for that matter.

Sorry to burst you bubble. Sega never listened about those stupid voice acting petitions. And a leap like this back into a business that they were
pushed out of ever so long ago with barley any hardware knowledge other than lock out chip programming and a few other small details. It is very unlikely they could ever re-achieve their greatness.

If Sega didn't cater to the sports loving audience, they might still have their own console. Seriously, their lineup had less and less non-sports titles every year. At least they're creating decent games for other systems, but their soul is gone.

I feel that Sega got lucky with the Genesis. Really lucky. None of their other consoles were a hit. The Master System was a flop here in the States (did good in the UK and Brazil though), the Sega CD flopped as an addon, but not nearly as bad as the 32X. The Saturn was a nightmare to develop for, and the Dreamcast just didn't have enough games to make me want one. Most people I know who got a Dreamcast got it because you could go online with it, not for the games. Sega never really knew what they were doing with consoles, as far as I'm concerned.

True, it seems that Sega was in the right place at the right time for Genesis:

It was at the same time when everyone loved:

-Altered Beast Smile
-Strider Very Happy
-Michael Jackson Twisted Evil

Heck, I still love Altered Beast and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.

Well they need to do something. Everytime they release a game for a competing company's console, they are actually making it harder to get back in. They are destroying themselves.

I disagree.
Sega needs to do something to stay in business. If they don't have a console, and it is very likely that they'll never have another one, they need to do something to keep afloat. Not making games for other systems isn't going to do them any good. How else would the company make any money to possibly try and create a new video gaming console? No new games = end of Sega.

What about third party games?

Sega ain't with Nintendo. They make multi-platform games, meaning they make it for all current systems avaliable.

They only make Sonic games for the GameCube now, but they have did release AvP3 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Plus they ported it to PC as well.
