Train in Perfect Dark!


Background, texures and portals are ported and working fine.
clipping is 90% Done



Clipping Complete, i had a good run round and i could find ant glitches.
I wont be able to work any more on this until friday night because im away but i should stil be able to post.



this a peek at what it might look like when its done, just imagin all the goldeneye objects and characters in place of the perfect dark ones.


train co-op with human and with sim.


GE:X and GE Train side by side.


Train VR setup has everything including hills and bases.
This deffinatly needs some tyding up though, ive passed the setup to wreck so he can have a go and suggest any idears to improve it.

Thanx for your coments guys.

The clipping is now at 99.9% because i need help on one last thing,
how do you make a clipped wall in to a ladder because i cant get back into the train once ive gone out?

A good thing about the Train, is that most of the important objects are already ported or exist in PD already. The roller door is readily available, and the other wooden doors have been ported. I'll just need to update the texture ID's for them and get them into the new ROM. I also have the metal crates done and ready to go, but the wooden ones have yet to be dealt with. I suppose the brake unit also requires porting. Should have the wooden table pretty much ready, too.

For a ladder, you can right-click on the tile you want to modify and go to "Set Tile Types Flag". A sub-list will come up, so just make it match one of the following four ladders. I think the first one might suit best, though you may need to test.

01000100 [44: Ladder - See/Shoot Through]
01001010 [4A: Ladder (Area 52)]
01011100 [5C: Ladder (Lucerne Tower, Warehouse, Felicity)]
01011110 [5E: Ladder (Warehouse, Sewers)]

Thanx for the ladder info the fist one worked great, just ironing out a few gliches and i should be done with clipping.

All four of the Train doors should be available for use, now. Here's a list of what values to use for the time being, so they'll end up being the proper models in the GE:X ROM...

0A1: Ptrain_doorZ - New ID: 0B8, File: 01AF (Pdd_accessdoorupZ)
0A2: Ptrain_door2Z - New ID: 0B9, File: 01B0 (Pdd_accessdoordnZ)
0B1: PhatchdoorZ - New ID: 0B3, File: 01AB (Pdd_grateZ)
145: Pdoor_rollertrainZ - ID: 015, File: 00BE (Pdoor_rollertrainZ)

Actually i was gona make a sugesstion that you open a new thread thats just like the texture one but for items, bodys and heads so we all know what the id's were in GoldenEye and where they are gona be in GE:X.

Of course *i come to ask, are bases and hills going to be available?
Because honestly, given one briefcase is at the starting of the train, and another on the outisde well.. Sounds like a chaotic game of capture :p

yeah, a game of king of the hill could be hard in such a linear place as the train, but I guess solutions could be found, like setting the hills/bases at passenger compartments, half rooms or something like that. Probably not a good level for that kind of gameplay.

For now im keeping to making train a single player mission, there is no dought that i will eventualy mess around with a multiplayer setup for it but it still might not make it into the final release. we will have to see.
