Hey guys! I knew about Goldfinger 64 project thanks to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T2_i-RS4bo

As I comment on the video,

"I see there is a lot of people in the project. If they need someone to translate the game to spanish, count me in. I'm an amateur writer in spanish and my girlfriend is studying english filology"

I'm a big Bond fan so I'd be happy just doing it for free.

Hola y bienvenido.

Not a clue about modelling, unfortunately. I'm a "letters guy" more than a "numbers guy" so I know nothing about hacking lol. I find it fascinating though.

Not sure how that comparison would translate into something english speakers would recognize, though Wink

Thanks EternallyAries

sorry for not posting soon

basically is that i would like to see the screams and grunts in the goldeneye game changed for expressions in spanish.

For perfect dark and the posibility of entirely replacing the mp3 sounds files it is even better, because the dialogues and guard says can be changed to spanish

very good considering that even in europe as far as i knew the game did not have spanish speech or no spanish dialogue in the cutscenes.

Also for friends in spain they can have their own version in their regional accent, and for mexico the mexicanized version.
(they say mexico's spanish "lacks" accent and that is why most dubbing in spanish is done here)

the best thing would be to have some talk in spain-like accent
(joanna - cassandra = the more british -like)
some in mexico's
(elvis - carrington - johnattan - the president)
and the skedar talk like argentinians ( mr blonde - most guards - the NSA guy) : )

Euro/PAL release of PD has a selectable full Spanish translation, except for SPEECH, which is only in English. I prefer it like that, the original dub job is quite good in my ears, while most spanish VG dubs I have heard so far are utter crap. You could always read subtitles, anyway.

LOL at mexico having "no accent"... You'd be shocked to hear the opinion that Spaniards have about that.

I agree, I don't think it would be cool to do a fan dubbing or something, and it would be very weird if it had so many accents mixed (btw, Mexico has a very very evident accent...). Well, it's not like we spaniards are not used to have english voices with subtitles on videogames anyway o_o

i think like in all the countries the accent depends on the region -
i know Mexico has a lot of regional accents where some people "blur" the sounds of letters for words or "eat away" or skip entire sound of vowels and consonants....

I think for english there really is no such thing as "accentless" english
because english does not always pronounce the vowels or consonants the way they are written.......

In spanish there is supposed to be no such thing (or so i was told)
when you say "vamos a mover" there is supposed to be no other way to say it

only when you have a very heavy accent say dominican or cuban
instead of saying "vamos a mover" they say "Va-jh-amos a move' "
so its like the 'R" is not there and there is this H-like gap with 2 a's in the middle of them.

And in spain there is this thing where S -es (multiple of letter S)
"eses" become
(in a very heavy accent) "ezzthes"
sort of like how Silvester the cat speaks

Or say the spanish word "Voz"
it supposed to sound like the englisH word "BOSS"
but some people in spain say it like "BOtHzHzH"

In Mexico what we tend to do in regions is to speak and it sounds like it has a tone or something, but no letters are morphed in to THs or ZZZ nor skipped and silenced.....

if you turned an S in to a Z they would say we spoke "chiqueado"
and that we need it to stop it.

which is a very different thing than dialect words,
some parts of the world and regions have awful spanish that you can't understand - sort of how some scottish tribes speak and you can't recognize any of the english words are said (or so the british say)

So to end all this

accentless english?
I don't think there is sucha thing....

Accentless spanish?
there is but there is always going to be this "singing" quality to it
but at least you can make out exactly what letters are used in a sentence
when spoken properly........

either way accents are cool for characters
and i agree that i like to hear the original voices

Still it is very freaky and cool when something is dubbed and it closely resemebles the original voices and tones............

take for example the Spanish dubbing of soul reaver legacy of kain
hear the old man's voice in the pit in english and spanish and they sound
cool in both languages
one weird thing does happen with spanish - voices never sound as deep
"roncas" in the spanish language
so for MR Blonde a guy witha very deep voice would have to be found....
