In what little spare time I've been managing to conger up I have been tracking GoldenEye 2010.
Just today I found this little website:
http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=125721
Which is very reveling; however most of it DOES seem photoshopped; but
this could eventually lead to something else. The game is rumored to be announced at E3 2010; so i will keep posted with whatever comes out until then. _________________ Who? |

Still sounds like total BS.
Umm, GoldenEye with Daniel Craig...?
Klobb Zapper would definitely kick some ass. _________________

Apparently, it's a remake of the N64 version.
In my opinion, it can only be a true remake if it was based on the original engine, which of course Rare owns. 4J Studios used the original PD engine for the Xbox remake, and because the original source code was there, it still feels like PD.
Even if they don't build the levels exactly, (which they probably would - Facility on Quantum of Solace was very close to Rare's) then they would probabl make some new levels, which would be blasphemy to the original. And Daniel Craig in GoldenEye? Come on! Pierce Brosnan MADE GoldenEye what it is!
If this is true, then I think that it's time that the superior XBLA version gets released ASAP. GE is a legacy not only in the FPS genre, but the world of gaming. Modern players need to experience a REAL game with timeless gameplay and longevity.
END RANT!
After reading this on Rare's website, maybe the XBLA version would be released? Who knows!:

About the only thing I could look forward to seeing in a new GoldenEye game, would be locations not featured in the original. Places like the Casino, Valentin's club, the Hotel, Cuban beach house, and MI6 Headquarters. The missile silo was never shown or talked about directly in the film, so there'd be no reason for it to be included. In fact, Rare may even be able to forcefully remove such a level, as it was strictly a part of their "screenplay". A lot of elements - anything that isn't in the movie - probably couldn't be copied. The fact that Bond visited Severnaya on two separate occasions could also be stripped out. I don't know exactly how this whole mess works (I don't think anyone really does), but I would imagine a brand new GoldenEye game would be very different from our beloved N64 version. _________________

This actually makes sense if you think about it, for the same reason that the other three Bonds got dropped from GE. Although personally in that situation I would probably just do a generic Bond character than modeling him based on any particular actor (seems to be what they were doing in the 360 remake, if Trevelyan was anything to go by). |

It makes sense, but it'd be like a studio making a game for the first "XXX" movie, though instead of modelling the lead character around Vin Diesel, they end up using Ice Cube. Wrong man for the job. I'd have to agree with using a more generic likeness of Brosnan, as well as other actors. _________________

...Like "Agent Under Fire"? The guy looked like a hybrid of Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan! |
