Some of my games work, and others don't on my Gameshark. It's a version 2.1. When I use the following games, things run normally:
- Wave Race
- Sarge's Heroes 2
- Goldeneye
- Ep. 1 Podracer
- Shadows of the Empire
- Mario Kart 64

But when I try the rest of my games, the time shows an '8', and nothing happens.

The rest of my games are:
- Super Smash Bros
- Banjo Kazooie
- Banjo Tooie
- Donkey Kong 64
- Diddy Kong Racing

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

I believe it has something to do with keycodes... When you put a game that works fine into the gameshark, goto keycodes and try different ones...

What do you mean?

Just for the record, I'm a complete gameshark noob.

Is there not a main menu with a choice "keycodes" or something like that?

Welcome to the forums Fierfek

Ok here how the Gameshark works. Let say you want to play Super Smash Bros and you put it on the gameshark and when you turn it on it give you a black tv and it wont work so to make Super Smash Bros
work you need to put the keycode in. But inorder to put it in you need to put a game that dus not need a keycode like Goldeneye 007 and Super Mario 64 dus not need a keycode at all so put one of thu games in your gameshark and turn it on and it sud work now go look for menu that sud say keycodes and look thu the list and if you see banjo and Kazooie click that and then turn your N64 off and put your Super Smash Bros and then turn it on and lets hope it works and if it dus and then your set enjoy. Now if it dus not work you ether need to buy banjo and Kazooie to get it to start or put Goldeneye 007 or Super Mario 64 in and let hope it starts or put all your games one by one and hope it will start agane.

Good luck Fierfek

Okay, I tried that, and it didn't work. I bought this used btw - there are a bunch of other codes on it, and I think that may be part of the problem. Is there a way to format the gameshark? As in, erase all the files on it completely - to completely wipe it?
