I picked this up at Toys 'R' Us not long after it was released. I must say, I really enjoyed it. It's probably even better than the first.
The new power-ups are pretty fun to use. The Cloud Flower allows you to form up to three clouds under your feet, enabling you to cross long gaps and get really high up in the air. The Rock Mushroom lets you roll into a boulder and smash whatever is in your path. Most of the power-ups from the first Galaxy are still there, even if rarely available. Yoshi was actually well utilized, which was kind of a shock. He felt thown into the New Super Mario Bros. Wii game, but he serves many purposes in Galaxy 2. Luigi (my favourite of the plumber brothers) is also made available earlier on, as he makes appearances in various levels and asks if you'd like to switch out. You can choose to use him at all times later on in your adventure. Just when you think you've beaten the game completely, they open up a whole new set of stars to collect. The very last star on the very last level was a doozy, but I guess your best reward is bragging rights for completing the entire game.
If you're a fan of Super Mario Galaxy, a fan of the Mario universe, or just want a fun adventure game for your Wii, I strongly suggest giving this one a try.

I got this game not that long ago to and its better then the 1st one i ohmost have all the stars in this game sofor and im still haveing fun.
And i like how you can play as Yoshi more in this game then new super mario bros to.
and you can play time atack to with Luigi wich make the game last longer to.
