| hey peeps so I may be getting a new isp soon, im from the uk and i done a broadband speed test on the site and it estimated that i would have a 4.0mb internet connection, i live in the countryside, do you guys think thats rubbish or is it decent? |

That'll give you a rough dl speed of

connections are usually measured in megaBITS, not megaBYTES.
divide that 4mb by 8, and it will result in 512k, as spyster said. |

| My personal experience tells me that pretty much anything 1.5mb or better (roughly 150-200kbps d/l speed) is good enough for most stuff on the internet - at that speed hulu and youtube generally play through without having to buffer. |

Im not one of those broadband freaks who like to show off their fast internet and so on on speed tests, what I want is a decent broadband that will give me lower ping on games, stream videos much better, and download faster, although this broadband has been known to cap you if you use it too much, even with the unlimited usage. I hope this 4.0mb will let me do these things

Estimated usually means its not that.
My line could go up to 24 meg, but where I live gives me a low dl speed.
