There are very few levels where rain could possibly be utilized, and the Jungle really suits it well. With no music soundtrack, it opens itself up to even more ambience than the local wildlife alone. The thunder cracks, and lightning brightens up the nearby areas. The rain stops outside the cave entrance, but the rumblings can still be heard from within. Pictures really don't do the rain effect any justice.

I really thought it'd be a nice touch having snow falling through the ventilation shaft in the Bunker. Well, after seeing it, it was definitely a good choice. It also snows outside in the helipad, as well. Big thanks to Sub for getting the snow behaviour for the Air Base slot ironed out.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

If SubDrag wore a shiny ring, we'd all be kissing it. Yes, after a painstaking search, over the course of two days, he was able to identify the place in ROM where the rooms are setup. He's even added support for it in the Editor (beta). With it, I was able to update the room ID's for Runway, and prevent the snow from appearing inside. It's a beautiful sight!

Sub took a little time to check into the rain used in Chicago, and was able to find the Action Block responsible. It appears as though weather elements can crossover between maps. It can snow in the streets outside of the G5 Building, and rain in Alaska. But here we see a nice pour on the service runway in the back of a chemical weapons facility in Arkangelsk...

It also thunders and lightnings, too. In fact, the area is lit by a lightning strike in that very screenshot. Rain obviously won't be in Runway, but it was easiest for me to test with.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Though there is still a lot to learn about how this works, I did manage to get snow into the Runway for a test (thanks for DB for finding the Action Block value)...

The main problem is that it also snows in the interior rooms. Until we figure out where the snow itself is setup for the stage ID, we'll never have full control over the effect. There are work-arounds, but those can only accomplish so much. Anyway, I thought everyone might like to see what's happening in this area.

Wreck, would you mind sharing the action block you used for the rain/snow? If sometime in the future I want to make my own level I may use it.

Also is it just me or do you think seeing rain in the skedar mission would be pretty cool for the final boss battle? To make it seem tense/ evil and so on.
