Hi, I have a problem with my new rom. I made my rom using the second bunker level. All the action block hex code is ok,used check syntax.
I have a direct X 10 or 11. I removed the version 9,0c directx but I had the same problem before without deleting that.
I tried to reinstall goldeneye editor twice,cleaned my hard discs,rebooted,open and close PJ64 but it still problematic.
When I open my goldeneye.rom I go to choose bunker 2 and I start.
I can hear the song of the level 3 seconds of time,the screen still black and after that I do not hear anything,screen stays black but PJ64still running.--> 57, 60.02 60.08 -->speed
The speed continues without hearing something,black screen. The emulator makes that even though I wait.
Waiting does not work!
But sometimes the rom works but not always and not often
Plugin video: Jabo`s Direct 3D 8 1.6
Plugin audio: zilmar`s audio plugin
Plugin control: darkman input 4,0c
Rom set:
Noyau R4300i,self mod`s code,ram size and advanced linking block, all by default. Save by detecting automatically,counter factor by default.
Only register catching and TLB are checked.
Recompiler,rom and emu
emu:
check memory advance,ram size 4 mo,advanced block linking yes
RDB set by default,checked.
I do not know what is the problem but I will try to change setting rom

I can notice when I see at the beginning, I remark song is not perfect, where you see bond games. Enter a game and the sound will be ok.

So the ROM will start up, and you are able to choose a mission to play? Have you tried to see if any of the other, non-modified, levels load without crashing the emulator? It almost sounds to me that you may have too many different object models in your customized stage. If there are a lot of unique props in the setup, it means that there are also more textures being loaded into the RAM. When there are too many images to load, the game will freeze up. I remember having this exact same problem in one of the two Bunker maps. I added in a few more characters (Ourumov and some Civilians), as well as some new computer consoles, and the level would refuse to start. _________________

Non-modified levels work all. It seems this is just the new level. I remember last time on my new other rom like runway, Bond was moving slowly with a bit sound default. When I looked at the ground with a little bit at left, song was perfect until Bond move. So too many different objects and props in the setup and too much textures in the RAM.
Do you have a way to set that problem? I cannot go there because I do not know where it is and do not want to delete wrong things.
Too many different objects. I have at least once the good stuff. And I should delete the others copies and it will be the same of props.
I have a 4GB of vive memory. |

Ok, objects, I tried so much appears and I deleted almost all of them in the GE. I saw that fews objects did not appear. I lost few objects behind the walls so I created them again because I could not see them behind.
I have created another rom of the same level and I used correctly objects and the emulator does the same problem. |

It isn't just a matter of having too many objects in your stage (though that can cause problems, too, such as slowdown), it's more a matter of the variety of props you have...
If you put in a wooden crate, it only needs to load in the images for that specific model once. You can put twenty of those same crates around the level, and it'll only need the textures from the first one. However, if you add in another different wooden crate model, the textures that it uses (whichever aren't shared by the other wooden crate) also need to load in. Certain objects require a larger number of images, and some of those are big in size.
As an example, if you have four different metal / wooden crates, or cardboard boxes, try changing them so that you're only using one or two different models. That cuts down on the number of textures required for the stage to load.
Also, characters require the most images. If you add in a bunch of different bodies (like a Male Scientist, Female Civilian, and St. Petersburg Guard), than you're going to start overloading the RAM with textures.
All you can do is try to be more cautious with the variety of props and characters you're including. Remove some, or change them to another object that you already have in the level, and see if that helps at all. _________________

But I do not have too much objects. Just 3 characters, 2 doors, 1 aircraft,1 KF7 in my new rom and it does not work. In my old I have 2 doors, 3 characters, 1 computer, 1 alarm and 1 tag object from a door.
So I do not have a lot of stuck! Do not still understanding. All I can say it`s in my rom section, goldeneye and perfect dark rom have a weird icon like: instead of having GE or PG64 icon and do not know if it represents a problem.

hm...
Ok then delete the plane.
sometime even there mey not be to much stuff but it may even still freez. but the plane is a very big object and it contane i dont know like 4 to 5 texters on it and it may even cuse it to freez so try deleteing it and we will see if that will fix your problem.
And even adding object you got to remember that the level your useing is loading texter like let say bunker.
It has a ton of texter even with out objects.
And if you put objects and the level to getter it will moltaply over and over agan.
So try not useing stuff that has way to much texters.
And the other thing may not be the texter casing it to not load it may be the clipping.
If you somehow add a object out side of clipping it will freez no matter what you do. So check the level 100% and see if you miss something.
Oh and try adding a preset outside of the clipping it may fix the problem to.
and well if that dus not fix it then try deleting some Acton blocks.
Other then that i have no idea on what else to do then.
You may need to restart it all if you cant find what is wong with it. _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

I have chosen the bunker 1 and add few things and I had the same problem but it kept song. It should be a bug. The level just does not open.
Just to tell you about real bunker levels in the real rom... Those levels are as big as my levels and they work! Hackers in here knows exactly how to solve the problem. If no I would be surprised, they made that smart hacking editor couples of years ago and they have seen so much bugs,failures and they persevered to solve problems.
I just assigned the GE to my documents, saved my files and did F5 to make the new rooms and at first it worked about 4 or 5 times and now it does not work. I downloaded GE and real roms then deleted them many times since today. I took my roms from *site name removed by staff*. |

Yes Subdrag and Wreck and others who help make the Goldeneye editor are smart.
But it dus not mean they will know how to fix your problem.
We will give out suggesting and we will try our best to help solve your problem.
Sometime a hacker may hit a wall and can't help you out at all.
It will happen and you will need to learn with it.
Now time to go back on topic.
Ok this is my last idea.
Have you ever edit the 21990 (GE)?

Never, just modified a level and save and made F5 simply!
I tried to make something with that but I had to delete GE because I was not able to save by F5. Just tried out the convert tutorial rom by subdrag with trying to solve my problem with the number 2 and 3 and I just screwed up the editor. I`ve got a skedar attack to my a**
Then it is deleted but you can give me some details of your plan. I have seen HI RES mod and maybe it would change something not completely sure with thise settings. |

Ok let say you did editor your rom in the 21990 (GE).
Go in stage options then click on the thing that has a level on it and look for your level that your editing on it.
Then after you click it look at all the settings and see if they match the ones im going to put on here.
Now you said that your editing the bunker 1 so ill give out the setting that must match the one im going to say.
