Ok can someone with some experience help me out here(I love this program by the way and thanks for making this). I went to the presets for No Mercy (U), starting figuring out what I need to do on my own, messing around with the sound files that are all there, and I got the sound file I needed, I got my replacement file, and the correct settings(wave file/mono). After replacing it, it tells me something like "warning file is not the same length", do the music files have to be the same length as the one I am replacing? Also when I go to save rom and make a new rom file, will that put all my work on the new rom file I have saved? Thanks in advance to person who understands what I am talking about and is kind enough to help me on this.

You are probably getting a sampling rate is wrong. After you insert it, if you play it back does it sound too fast or slow? You can use a program like Audacity to adjust the rate.

To use your stuff, replace a sound, then click Inject in Place in ROM button, then File->Save ROM.

Yes it sounds really slow, I changed the pace to find the entrance music I was looking for in the game because they were all going way too fast and I couldn't understand what sound file I was listening to. Once I injected the file though it sounded super slow and scratchy. I'll check out that program you mentioned, and yes that's what I did once I replaced it, I went into file, and saved rom, but when I went into the rom, the music was not where it should have been, but I'll see if I can figure this one out. Thanks for making this again, probably one of the better programs to come around in a long time. I hope some where down the road someone can make a program where you can go into games and work on the wire frame models for many N64 games if such a thing is possible.

Ok, I figured out how to change sample rate and got that correct but now when I go to inject into place, it says: error tbl too big. Does this mean I need to cut down the length of the file or try to make it have less, what should I do?

Means overall size was exceeded because I guess your sound was bigger than the one replaced. I think you have to replace more until size overall gets smaller.

Yes, I cut the sound to 16 secs length and now it works! Thanks so much SubDrag. Here's a video the file working inside the game:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlGk922tRlM

All that needs to be done now is I need to work on the volume and looping part, but I'm certain that I can do that on my own. No Mercy theme songs all have a loop at a certain point within the song.

This is Olllollll0

Hey,
John_Titor2036 Nice work getting the sound file in the game - & much thanks to SubDrag -
i think i sent you a PM through This account of Oldyz,
we have always wanted to customize our WWf games with
Lucha libre content & MISc stuff - but the Holy grail of our search is to find out how to edit the ROM itself to edit all the Standard wrestlers as if they where the created ones - (moves and hidden AI)

Do you know if the NO mercy zone still lives? & if there is more stuff available to hack wwf 2000?

NO mercy is a better game for one player, but is too slow in 4 player mode, which is why wwf 2000 gets more use by us.

Oldyz is on Vancation - the galaxy is at peace

ollllo here:

Some issues -
1 - the arrows to the right of the sound numbers are intended to change the order of the sounds?

2 - some sounds & voices are accelerated - is this problem affecting some machines or does it affect all machines?

3 - if they are supposed to be that way, sound replacing currently is kind of a trial & error deal , since some sounds are normal & others seem to accelerate at different rates -

4- Some sounds are not replaceable - they mess up the whole rom and actually disable the sound in the emulators
(in perfect dark it seems that sound 0006 & sound 0007 have to be exactly the same - are they linked? - so there might be more like that)

well, had some fun today learning how to use it - but the accelarated sounds are a bit of a problem when trying to identify certain sounds-
also i think that hitting the inject in place button too many times results in a ROM with no sound -

Oldyz is still laughing at the hidden duck sound in perfect dark

The sampling rate of each sound is individual, and not the global sampling rate, and we have not found out what determines the sampling rate yet.
The RWP sound pak has sampling rate for xbox rip, http://www.therwp.com/downloads/perfect-dark-xbla-sound-pack

so you can use that to determine rate.

The arrows are intended to move sounds, combobox is to scroll. However, use the Setup Editor for GE/PD sound editing as it is better in tune with ROM sizes and addresses. You probably hit a too big issue in sound tool, which is why sound disappeared.
