I decided to be a little curious and googled for the Japanese version of Perfect Dark, seeing the screen shots from old pictures on how it was a little different. I don't think anyone here has bothered to download it except me: but I'm the kind of person that when I find somethnig interesting or make something interesting, I share it. This is what I found when I powered on the Japanese version of version of PD.
Notice the different opening, when the screen with Perfect Dark flashes with a red background and you can notice vividly Japanese text appearing for a second.
The second thing you will notice is the changed face texture on Joanna. (Why they did this, I don't know. Someone please enlighten me)

no other reason than nippon Hokori i guess....
Also - i think its not just the facial texture but a bit of difference on the Polygonal estructure-
Also , she looks a bit more attractive that way......
