it is why i hate it so much -
major flaw that Rareware allowed to exist |

I'll try swapping those sound effects out with null entries today. Hopefully it doesn't mess with anything else. I think I may have screwed up one of the sounds you hear when a match comes to an end, so I'll have to track that down. _________________

Olllo here :
i just thought of a way to figure out if it can be "scripted"
Ok here are the situations where the noise is present, i hope this helps deactivate the noise for most of the game and keep it for its target seeking purposes -
the noise is present in single player mode
coop mode
counter op
it is also present during single player combat simulator
but in a surprising twist, 2 player combat simulator mode has it deactivated - i'm in the process of checking out if rocket launcher & CMP150's target lock noise is present
needless to say 3 and 4 player combat simulator do not have the noise present -
i will check out the target lock situation during 4 player mode too |

Wreck, haven't heard a sound out-of-place at end of match, except for the common "woosh"/"swish" menu sound.
What I have noticed, even in normal PD randomly, sometimes at the end of match another song will start |

Ok
here are the results:
During 2 player combat simulator the noise is only present with
rocket launcher (primary & secondary mode)
and CMP150 (primary & secondary mode)
the rest of the weapons have it turned off -
check for yourselves using this state saves:

So whatever it is, the best method will have to be to imitate this behavior for the rest of the game-play modes |

Interesting info that actually will help a lot when I try and hack it. |

I replaced the two sounds with null entries, which effectively mutes the targeting noise. It does feel more appropriate this way. _________________
