Posted: Fri Feb 24, 2012 9:44 pm Post subject: Over lapping tabs and text in most programs I have. |
|
|
Well for about 2 months now I been having this overlapping problem with some programs of mine. It bothers me because some programs over lap the text or some programs windows are to small for the full window.
Here is 2 pics showing the 2 main programs I notice it in.
As you can see I put a red circle over the overlapping options. This problem wont let me click the tabs or anything unless I use tab.
This shows the text that is overlapping the tabs. Its very bothering since I can't sometimes tell what tab i'm using and i'm force to guessing what tab i'm in. I circle the part where it shows the over lapping tabs that has this problem.
So i'm really hoping you all know how to fix this. I had this problem the day I got this laptop. And some programs also have this problem. So im hoping this is fixable.
By the way sorry if the photos are a bit to small. If you want I can resize them if needed. _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

Sorry for double posting but. I'm guessing no one has an idea what the problem is. And knows how to fix it? _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

Try changing your font settings via your control panel... To be honest I've never had this issue and I'm almost certain that won't do anything anyway..

Its alright. I might post this same problem on another forums and see if I can get help from there if no one here can help me at all. _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

Olll here:
try and make the desktop behave like an old win98 machine -
i ignore how on win7
but in xp you go to performance options in "my pc" right click
and activate visual effects - adjust for best performance -
this will make everything look like a '98 machine -
and this should still be there on win7 - i hope-
the issue should go away

Just try your idea and it still wont show right. I'm still wondering what causes this problem. _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

Olllo carajo
try to modify the font size, in XP
it was right click on desktop
display properties under the appearance tab -
make it extra large and see if this changes the behavior.
then turn back to normal
somewhere else there is also an option that modifies the font sizes -
in one machine it was the video card configuration -
a similar problem happened once - program windows had big big fonts making some reading difficult - and making the font sizes small and then resetting the machine to default worked. |

To be completely honest it's not your PC's issue, it's the applications. This certain application may have been developed in a different operating system which font looked smaller on that operating system than in Windows 7. Same applies to colors. If you develop an application in Win 7 and set the color to Grey (A background for instance) on an XP machine it will look green. Just a thought. _________________

Oh well then that helps me a lot. I open up Project 64 and open up the video plugin menu. It looks mess up in Mupen but in Project 64 its looks perfect.
Maybe someone need to contact Mupen 64 dev team and fix this problem they have so I don't have to live with this little problem. _________________ There totally nothing to read here. |

Mupen is one of few projects actively being developed. On top of that. it's open source.
The system font itself may just be rather large. If you changed it from stock (they're using Tahoma now, right?) they probably just didn't allow their app to resize to compensate. Common problem.
One strange little solution would be to get ahold of a resource editor.
They allow you to reorgainize or, as in this case, resize the elements that make up the program's user interface. It's its own little nightmare, but I've done the same thing with the GE editor (back when I could run it) to set the windows sizable and align things better. If you know what you're doing, you can also make toggles for features that were otherwise removed, such as the cool backup and disassembler in Datel's official GS tools.
BACK UP THE APPLICATION BEFORE USING IT THOUGH! _________________ (\_/) Beware
