First of all, I've never even heard of the other titles that will be discussed at this event. It's obvious that they needed to include one of the "big guns" to gather additional interest, and to hopefully spark a really good debate.

Secondly, how can you go on about how much you used to enjoy playing the game when it was first released, and now call it bad? That doesn't make any sense. It's almost like he's comparing it to modern day FPS games, instead of against others released back in the late nineties.

You don't get those acknowledgments by being bad.

The funny thing is, I still prefer Goldeneye and Perfect Dark over modern day FPS games, even Call of Duty. Another funny thing is, I'm not a good CoD player despite playing over the last year and a half. After discovering recently I can return to 15 years ago and play Goldeneye online, I pretty much walked away from CoD completely except for private matches with a few friends. I think all these new FPS's are dumbed down to the point where all these unskilled people get mad good. For one, they have a "hit indicator" that shows you what direction damage is coming from. GE doesn't do that, you have to find your attacker on your own. New games have an "aiming down the sights" option that pretty much makes aiming super easy. In GE, you actually have to have skill with your aiming, not just push a button and snap your aim to the first target you see like any 12 year old nowadays can do. And we all know GE pros turn off the radar. Not so in new FPS games, where you give your position away just by firing your weapon. What garbage. I'd like to see all these Black Ops and MW3 players play me in Goldeneye and see how good they really are.

Sorry for the long rant lol but I felt it needed to be said. My point for all this is, Goldeneye IS a great game and will always be on top for me. Goldeneye X makes it even more so with everything the original should have been.

I too prefer PD and GE to modern shooters (or any FPSs ever). I think that bloke is either deluded, rabidly anti-GE for some reason, or (most likely) just listed GE along with the other games to provoke a reaction and get more publicity, as others have said.

Not that the presentation is likely to be good or informative if he does think that GE is in any way a bad game...

It's like bad movies. It doesn't matter how poor certain aspects of something is as long as they add up to that unquantifiable quality that results in fun. For instance people love angry birds. I loathe it.
