What do you do actually? Is it entirely about breaking blocks and building them or is there more to the game?
Its cool if that's all there is, but it just seems people whisper about it in quiet, conspirital tones whenever someone asks what the game's about.

The game has an ending, the entire point of the game is to start from scratch, survive in the Overworld and try to get to the Nether (Hell) and then get to the End.

I sampled some of it. It's just not a chaotic or joyful enough game to be fun

I honestly don't understand all the hype. It looks like Magestorm. But Magestorm is a menacing spellbound FPS from the mid 90s , red vs blue vs green , I think at once you could have matches of up to 30-50 players ?

Check out these sounds.. nuts. At around 10-15 second mark there's just great effects. Great MIDI tunes as well, so fitting and medieval. I mean this is a mid-90s game by Mythic, they died, now a small group is rehosting it hopefully free of charge still

Wow, Magestorm is crazy. I vaguely remember the name from way back. Awesome the raised it from the dead.

I can certainly understand why the review for Minecraft was so harsh. Looking into it a little it has always had a lot of significant problems that were mentioned and never addressed. I've heard through Dwarf Fortress forums a lot about how Minecraft essentially stopped being developed when he started asking money for it, mostly because he got on DF's developer for not asking money for his own work. (never understood that nonsense)

Now, if you want an insane game DF's the way to go. It's certainly not easy, but it can be truly epic. Just don't go beard-fishing when carp are about.
