| I believe it depends on the program, for screensavers anyway. Most emulators are set up to disable the screensaver when using a controller, some even have it as an option, but I have a few that don't and it's really annoying. |

Matters a bit on the driver too.
You may be able to set your PC to avoid dropping into sleep during port access. Windows allows it with network and COM ports, but not certain on others.
