That's right, I've finally gotten into the world of handheld gaming. I picked up an Aqua Blue Nintendo 3DS yesterday, and have had some fun playing around with the built-in features and mini-games. There's a bunch of games currently in development that I'm looking forward to playing, but nothing out right now that's really got me excited (aside from Zelda: Ocarina, which I've already played many times on the N64). However, there are also a slew of DS games I plan to get, since I never had an opportunity to play them before.

It's hard for me to say how well the 3D effect is working for me. I never did have much success with the multi-coloured glasses that some 3D movies forced you to wear. From my limited viewing, it seems like keeping the slider at about 33% works best for my eyes. Time will tell when I actually start playing some 3D games.

Anyway, I think it was worth investing in. There isn't much coming out for the Wii or PS3 that I want, but many intriguing titles from the DS family.

Does anyone else have a 3DS, or plans on getting one at some point?

Hmm, I don't think I do. I've never really got into handheld gaming. Only have a Gameboy SP which I received like, 8 years ago? LOL. Don't really have plans to move further.

I'd like to get one at some point, but I'll probably wait some time. The hardware is extremely appealing to me, not so much for the stereoscopic screen, as I have never had too much luck with stereoscopic imagery before either, but the hardware seems exciting.

I have a Game Boy Advance, I bought an EZ FLash GBA flash cart for it for $35 bucks which lets you load roms onto an SD card. I haven't played around much with it yet, but right now I've been playing on and off Zelda - A Link to the Past (as I never played the SNES version).

I've also managed to emulate a few SMS (Sega Master System) games on it - only problem is that the GBA doesn't run at the SMS's native screen resolution.

I have a GBASP. (I actually traded a first release DS for it because the DS was too hefty for me to take to Iraq.)

And seeing as I'm always behind in gaming, I'll probably not pick up another handheld until 360 games can be portable. Laughing

Now I'm off to play Shantae!

This is Olllolllo

Since i'm the one who buys the 'heavy hardware' for the 5 stooges,

I might try & finally get 4 of the 3dsEs in case it gets a good multiplayer game - in the vein of the 4 swords zelda game that came out years ago -

The ocarina re-make should have had a multiplayer mode with the same principle , but i learned to always lower my freaking expectations

The glassless 3d was not too impressive but it gets the job done -
the good thing is that there is a way to plug the 3ds to a 3d tv -

Ñ showed us this late night show where the host has some wiring connecting one to a big sharp wall TV set, so connecting it to a samsung or sony is not impossible-

Anyway later on this month i wil try to upload some small videos that oldyz made that should be compatible with the 3ds
so i hope Wreck has whatever extra gizmos are needed to see them on the thing,....

Oldyz is on Vancation - I get to feed the ferrets - to the cats

It's a very good combination between classic and new, as you can download old classics very cheap. Also, i use it to listen music, it has just the perfect size.
i also possessed almost every handheld of nintendo. They were great as well.

I do not own a 3DS but my brother does, basically same thing haha.
So far I love it, only thing that I dislike is the baterry life and the 3D, I simply can't view it properly.
Games that I own are:
Zelda: Ocarina of time 3D
Star Fox 64 3D
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Mario kart 7.
Idk bout you guys but Mario Kart 7 gives me high blood pressure haha

I purchased Mario Kart 7 when it went on sale recently, but haven't had a chance to play it. I have been playing Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D a fair amount, though. My 3D slider is all the way down, since I have a tendency to move the system as I play. Soon as you change the angle a little, you start seeing double. Really messes with your head after a while...

i cant say i use the 3d much when gaming, i use it more for videos and cutscenes and so. battery life is low, yes, if you play 3dgames long time. ds games on 3ds do not use so much battery life. And, low battery life is a fact BUT it recharges very quickly. i am still very proud of it Very Happy
this 3ds has a nice shine, but i dont like the new 3dsxl. it seems too big to game comfortable Smile also it's rather ugly compared to his little brother. i think Very Happy

I actually upgraded to the 3DSXL recently. Other than it being bigger, I don't feel much of a difference while playing. I do think I like it better, though. The increased screen size is a bit nicer on my eyes. This is coming from someone who hasn't played handhelds for years, so I'm not accustomed to smaller screens to begin with.

The really strange thing is that I don't normally have depth perception so the 3DS and Virtual Boy demo units are the only two times I've ever seen proper 3D. It's sort of neat, though I can only view it properly when teh 3D is just barely turned on.

My brother got Kid Icarus Uprising a week ago. It's a good game besides for the controls that takes some getting used to.Other than that it's a pretty neat game.
