The cleaning bot's action block in Investigation opens the door near the lasers in beta, doesn't in final, I'm not even sure if you could see this happen.

The big large white door before the lasers? If so, that's supposed to happen.

The robot itself can open the door in final, but the beta action block forces it open before going into a loop.

Ah, ok.

Seems the game crashes if you select 'Play All' in the Cinema menu at the second cut-scene where Joanna is closing the elevator.

What's different in that shoot? It looks the same as final to me.

Yeah, some unknowledgeable person at Unseen64 decided it would be a great idea to do a Beta screenshot difference in contrast to the original.

"The color of the walls are different from what we know today (they're not), but looking carefully, it may be from the 'Air Base: Espionage mission' (Of course it is, what other mission looks like this..?)" then goes on about a second computer screen in the left of the picture which makes no sense because the wall looks nothing like a TV screen.

Probably someone who only played on Agent and never saw that section of the level. I remember there was a comment on an early trailer that mentioned how cool that helicopter in Extraction would have been. Razz

I must admit, I haven't found much different. Almost everything's the same. The image section is 100% identical. But I did notice the when you boot up and hold Start, the "Accessing Controller Pak" image is not in the ROM of beta one. But you can hold start and access it (just no image shown).

How about the older betas? I mean, the betas from 1999?
Seems even more interesting since there are so much more differences.
Is it possible to play the older betas too?

Unfortunately, as far as we know, no carts exist for them (which is quite a let-down).

I'm wondering. In the 6.4 Beta, Trent is just visible from the Crash Site in the cinema menu. But ofcourse the Final version (1.0 only)
Trent is invisible somehow, what went wrong on the Final version?

So have been taking a brief look, and there is a lot more different in NTSC Beta PD than we realized.

One simple thing noticed today, is Investigation, the shield tech item is different. It picks up a briefcase instead and looks different. Second big thing, is PD Beta NTSC is *missing gun (0x4F in final, Shield) which is what's picked up here. Must've been a late addition/hack. So it only has 0x5D weapons instead of 0x5E.

Beta

Final

There are some animation differences (I mean in the chunk)...but it's going to be hard to figure out what's different.
