Help with my Gameshark 3.2 Please

I just got a gameshark 3.2 a couple of days ago (never owned or used one before). I found Goldeneye forever.com and estatic about the custom multiplayer maps and the possibility of playing them with the friends in my neighborhood since weve been playing this game since the 1st grade and all of these new levels blew us away .anyways I manually typed in the Cradle and Statue codes and they both worked, i didnt have to plug my gameshark into the computer ( i dont have the cord). I then tried to put in the Train codes which took a while, i went to play 2P Multi and when the level loaded all i heard was the music for 5 seconds with a black screen and then my N64 froze. Is this a code i need to put into the computer? is it because it has some lower case letters? i know how to switch to lower case in the description box but not the new code box, how do you do this? also is there a possibility of damaging the gameshark when plugging it into the computer and writing codes to it? i just want to be safe because i have some pretty good Super Smash stage codes and i dont want my gameshark to get corrupted and not be able to use it again. if i were to manually type the custom maps from my N64 would they work or do they require to plug it into the computer and use the code program since they are so long? Sorry to bug everyone with my simple questions im just starting to use this. Thank you for your help i appreciate it so much!!

If I remember right, you need the port for the gameshark to import most hack levels into the game. Then again very few levels will even load in the cart. If you want to play all these levels on your N64. Be best if you bought one of those Everdrive N64 carts. Or some other cart that can load games on the N64. There quite pricey but well worth the money in a long run. Since you can simply put roms into the cart, and play any game on your N64 directly, just like only the real game. And hacks also work as well. Even though some hacks have problems rendering levels, like my Super Mario Bros level.

Now as for the Gameshark alone. I would be very careful inputting codes into the cart. I read somewhere some codes will render the cart useless. Or in simple words, completely broken. As for loading levels into the game though a Gameshark. The levels must be quite simple, not to much objects changed. Nor to much textures. If the train level your trying to load in muitiplayer not loading. You might wanna check and see what changes in it. It could also be a faulty code as well. You might wanna post the Gameshark code on this site. So others can view it and see what needs fixing and what not.

SAME problem with me too bro. That's why I hacked my own versions of ALL LEVELS. I squeezed as many objects (as a gameshark will allow) in there as possible too. Jungle actually has TREES in it and some plant life Wink I believe MANY of goldeneyeforever's gameshark codes were either hacked for EMULATOR *OR* could be a compatibility issue with codes hacked from earlier gameshark VERSIONS not working in the newer one. I'M NOT SURE but I would guess changing programming around couldn't help. I spent WEEKS trying to hand key the code LISTS you are speaking of and some of them are so experimental they may or may not work depending on the uuuummmm mood of the gameshark. Also it seems that used gamesharks tend to crash more easily and sometimes won't even run the game. I KNOW...I've spent 100's of hours of personal time messing with these things. Guess I was lucky when I bought a shark that I hacked with for over TWO years. Every other shark I bought seemed to suffer the same thing you speak of. Crying or Very sad Look up EVERDRIVE64 online. It's expensive but allows you to save ROMS you can upload to your console. Wink Meaning....you can use ALL of the levels everyone has hacked anywhere by patching a ROM and transferring onto your Everdrive64. Some levels may not work or crash due to game related issues. Sad Emulators are less picky with programming and I would HIGHLY recommend you buy a cheap but decent powered pc and use PJ64. I haven't used a console in over 7 years now and I wouldn't go back unless I had no choice. Why? See for yourself. Please forgive the screenshots from the OLD version of my GoldenEye MOD. I wasn't sure of what I was doing just yet and the texture loss i my error. Lol Newer versions do not have these issues. Thank you so much for your help I feel like I've spent 45-50 hours a already trying to get some of these to work! I'm going to look up the Everdrive 64, even though you say it's expensive I'm still willing to get it because to this day I still play the N64 over all of these new consoles. i looked it and its about $100 should i get version 2? Until i buy it and it gets here I'm going to try as squeeze as many levels I can get to the gameshark. Thank you for the link!! Ill try putting every code from it today Smile!!! Seriously made my day that you would help and give me so much info!! Ill look for the code again and post it later today when I can use my PC. I have one more question but it is related to SuperSmashBros. This is the only Time ill post anything unrelated to goldeneye I promise!!! All of the extra multiplayer stages work on my gameshark like Metal Mario, Race to the finish etc. except for Kirby Beta 2 which was the one I wanted to work the most!!! It freezes anytime a person is killed. So I can't play a good lengthy game on it :/ here are the codes for the levels, I don't get why it's the only level that freezes like this. 800A4D09 0009 - Kirby Beta Stage 1

Maybe this is a trivial point, but do you have the ram expansion pack installed into your N64 console? Without it, only 15 lines of code will work at a time.

I don't have an expansion pack yet it's coming in the mail tommorrow! I've kept each game I play down below 15 codes and Train code still froze when it was the only code I had on. Thank you for your link I'm about to read it right now!

GS-compatible MPs for every solo stage were made years ago.
Make sure you have an 8MB expansion pak, and you must turn code generator ON when using the codes. (I can explain why if you like)

The problem is the codeset you're using likely requires other codes along with it to function. If it's the train codeset I'm thinking of, you also need a sort of global enabler that plays around with the way the memory manager works. That's this:

NICE B!!!! Wow that's a nice gs code collection. BTW regarding your sky for Cuban Jungle I hacked out an ENORMOUS sky and fog library. 15 years and counting and adding more Wink. GoldenEye Legend has a SLEW more of different color combinations:

Yes the code is almost exactly like the one you posted, I typed each part as a new cheat.. Can I type them all under one cheat instead?? And as for the fogg and color adjustments I think they look great! The night time feel to Egyptian is perfect! And the fog on dam adds more to the level, I like the caverns orange as too, the colored mist on cradle is sweeet! lol all of them are great! I'm going to use those codes as well once i can get these levels to work without freezing. my expansion pack should be here this afternoon. Thanks for showing The codes Ill download the zip too! Thanks for your help guys! So if I break them up in different cheats or keep them under one is there a difference? And since ill be running more codes at once with the expansion pack how do I get a good idea of which ones not to run at the same time? is it just trial and error basically?

I don't recall exactly what the code limit is per code set but I believe its somewhere around 70 or 80. So you will have to turn on multiple code-lists at once (most of mine are broken into 4 or 5 sets) - don't try to combine into anything bigger than that.

The absolute max I know for sure for all codes you have turned on is 251 lines, but not all codes are treated equal (as in, some lines count as more than one because of what they do)

Oh yea....it's been so long since I used a gameshark I forgot to mention the SETS. Notice above in your list PART 1 OF 4, etc. Basically that's the SPLIT where you need to create each LIST. In a shark it looks like this:

Train
Pt 1
Pt 2
Pt 3
Pt 4
