Hello.

I have a question.
Is it possible that you can decrease download speed but increase the upload speed? I upload a lot of videos on YouTube recently, and that's why.
I download with 1.1 MB/sec but I upload just with a silly 156kb/sec

And I don't want to pay more, that's why I want to try this.
So is this possible and how?

Thanks in advance.

No. Only solution is to upgrade to fiber if you can get it.

There is no way to limit, certainly not one that I know of. As Spyster said, you probably have to upgrade if necessary/possible.

Yeah, ISPs love doing this for residential plans. Pay the premium or get terrible upload speeds. I'm lucky that I get more up than my plan claims I should (and more down for that matter Smile ), but most aren't. I still pay too much for what I get IMO, but that's monopolies for you. Only one cable provider here, which means we pay ~$20+ than other areas with actual competition.

Same here, only one cable provider, no DSL options. Fortunately my plan isn't too bad - my plan advertises 30mb down and 4mb up, I actually get closer to 20mb down and about 4.5mb up.

Most plans I've seen usually offer upload speeds only 15 percent or so of your download speed.

Spyster, that's slow.

@mistamontiel, I said the speeds I download and upload per second.
Not Kbps, mbps or whatever.

This is mine:

Evil or Very Mad Honestly I have yet to find an ISP paying them $80 a bloody month with good upload speed. Unless you build your own network and server room FORGET IT BROTHER Crying or Very sad Only countries that offer amazingly fast internet are Japan and EUROPE. Heard Google is trying to get the FIBER OPTIC out but it's going to take YEARS to get it all over the US because they are starting over. Cell phones took well over 10 years to get as good of coverage as they do now. So TIME is something it's going to take and most everyone will be uuuummm older then too. I estimate TEN YEARS on the fiberoptic thing. It takes ridiculous amounts of time and permission from land owners etc to dig up the ground to lay this sh*T Wink

Crying or Very sad Laughing Damn you have no idea how BLESSED you are bro. Cable modem isn't as available as DSL all across this country and you are blessed if you have a cable company nearby that has it. That's still a terrible upload speed considering you probably pay $60-70 per month for low speed crap. I'm really pissed off at internet providers because it's just INSANE how bad they are raping this country while other countries BUG EYE at our low web speeds Shocked

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh you live in Miami that's why your webspeed is so fast Big cities have no choice to provide fast service because people do things faster and will go ballistic Laughing I'm happy I'm moving to Portland, OR With almost a million people I'm sure my bandwidth is going to jump to a much nicer speed Very Happy

One benefit you get is Dynamic IPs, which is what I wish I had, and even though it's not that big of a deal, it has it's pros.

Unblock ports as in open...?

@Multi, yeah, I'm blessed in a way Wink I live in a small town, NOT Miami, very far from Miami actually. That's just the server I tested on.
