I don't know if there has been a thread like this before, but I am just wondering about this anyway.
What level theme or music piece from either Goldeneye 64 or Perfect Dark is your favorite?
My favorite is the Bunker 2 theme from Goldeneye, but I also like the Infiltration X theme from Perfect Dark.

I think this should be under game on since your talking about two games here.
But on topic, For Goldeneye my favorite is Citadel.
For Perfect Dark I like Chicago. _________________ www.youtube.com/gamerrey23

For me the Dam theme is the best theme from Goldeneye, but that could be because I've devoted so much time to working and decoding that level (and all the vehicle work I did was booted up in the Dam) so it could just be via repetition.
As for PD: it's gotta be the end theme - nothing says f*ck yes like the music you're given at the end of this game!
But in general music direction was fantastic for both games _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

every music in GE is so good that I cant say that I like one theme better than the other LOLL. its like they get better everytime you hear them. PD is almost the same. my favorite theme on PD used to be alien confrontation. I used to listen to that track over and over LOL. _________________ I Am Robbie.. lets gooooo |

For PD I really like the End Credits theme a lot, and also the Maian Tears track that plays in the Maian SOS bonus mission. I used to select Chicago X in multi pretty often, too.
GoldenEye does have too many good songs to choose from for an overall favourite. It seems like my choice would change depending on the day or my mood. There's no "one" that stands out high above the rest for me. _________________

Mine's the Control room - both the main theme and the elevator music. |

All of them are memorable but my favourites are
Facility, Frigate, Cavern's Elevator and Surface 2. _________________ Also known as Spyster or Nyxem

GoldenEye has so many great tracks, it's hard to narrow it down to a favorite. All of the single player music fits the mission it's assigned to wonderfully, but I'd say Facility is probably as close to perfect as the soundtrack gets, since it blends the score from the movie with the Bond theme and it's own thing. The perfect soundtrack for playing the mission stealthily, and it's industrial enough for the chemical plant setting.
The worst GE music is much easier to decide: Statue X. Back in the day, it was an instant reset in multiplayer if this came up. Such an obnoxious track, I'm so glad it's not used in the mission.
And speaking of X tracks, it's a damn shame that Control X isn't used. The elevator music's good, but Control X fits the protect Natalya segment perfectly, and I can't believe they went with an elevator theme over that.
Perfect Dark is easier for me to decide, since while they weren't bad, most of the mission tracks just didn't "do it" for me like GE's did. Defection is my favorite. I also like the mood Chicago's theme sets, but Defection overall is my favorite.
Special PD mention goes to Graeme Norgate's unfinished track, which ended up becoming Scotland the Brave in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect and was my favorite track in that game. Give it a listen if you've never played the game:

LOL oh yeah Maian Tears had a pretty chill cool beat to it. those were one of the underrated tracks of PD. Chicago x and the original version was so different with the original being the sad day type setting and x being like the run and go hide LOL. of the underrated PD tracks I liked Datadyne Action. it was like a prepare for battle type theme LOL. _________________ I Am Robbie.. lets gooooo |

Frigate is such a classic, along with Dam and Cradle. Plus the Silo. Hot damn Goldeneye got one hell of a playlist. But my favorite theme, gotta be Runway X theme.
For those who does not know about the Runway X theme. Here a link to it.

You know years ago I remember saying "I wish they'd do a live orchestral Doctor Who" and then they did last night at the Proms Doctor Who!
I wish that someone would do Goldeneye 64 Orchestral...all songs, played through back to back, and I bet it'd work in some gigantic way just like Pink Floyds "Dark Side of the Moon"! _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

I'd say from Goldeneye I liked the Citadel level music, oddly I don't remember much of the music from GE so I can't quite say which is my fav.
As for PD I love the Carrington Institute song, the Institute Defense and it's X variant. Air Base and it's X variant, Chicago, Maian Tears, and a few more that I can't remember their names as of now. I'll probably edit them in later. |
